Great lessons from a humble man

Is your name Joseph? If it is, tell us how and why you took that name.

Do you know someone who is called Joseph? Please forward this post to him so that he may tell us why he bears this name.

The Catholic World celebrates the feast of Joseph, the husband of Mary and foster-father of Jesus on the 19th of March every year.

It’s always a big event.

It’s amazing how this man who never said anything all his life is so highly respected in the world and said to have done so much for humanity.

He is, in fact, a role model to millions of people. Millions the world over bear his name. Millions of institutions in the world have been named after him.

Would someone kindly tell the world why this man is considered by so many as so great. I am told he had many virtues and that every letter of his name – Joseph – stands for a virtue.

Please, throw some light on this. What does this man teach the world?

  1. Hi, I haven’t seen you in awhile. The bible doesn’t seem to have much on Joseph except for the usual information so I’m not sure. And Thank you for enjoying my Some Parents Teach Their Kids to Lie blog. I don’t want anyone to get the wrong impression because some parents do teach their kids to lie, but not all of them. That’s the point I made. I will read more from your blog soon. Take care.

    • Hello Lora! Thank you for your response to my comment. I agree. There are many very good parents who teach their children the right things including speaking the truth. These are to be lauded and I think the others are challenged to emulate this example. Hope you have a great day.

  2. I am not sure about the letters of his name, but I know that he was a humble man. Why? Because he stayed with Mary, a pregnant 14 year old girl, even though people laughed at him and put him down. He was patient as he raised Jesus and taught him to be a carpenter. He was a devout man who loved God and believed the miracle of the Baby Jesus. That’s what I know.
