Dear friend, you like to live a happy life, don’t you?
If things are moving well in your life, you are happy, aren’t you? This, of course, is normal. If the stars are for you, usually you will feel on top of the world. If your light is shining, you will feel above the ordinary; but not if the reverse is true.
Hence, what do you do if the sun of life fails to shine on you? If the door to the storehouse of blessings is shut to you? If difficulties, hardship, and sorrows become your bedfellows? In other words, if rain pitilessly pours on you?
The answer to these questions is simple: you must turn to the one who has your life in his palms. The Psalmist tells us this in Psalm 46: we must turn to “God (who) is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the ocean depths; even if the seas roar and rage, and the hills are shaken by the violence” (Psalms 46:1-3).
It is clear: if you want to go far in life, do not go alone. Do not depend only on earthly support. It may fail you. Depend on Him who never fails those who put their trust in Him. Depend on Him from whom all ‘riches, honor, and long life’ come. That one is God.
Are you ready? You better be. There are no two solutions. Depend on God and win. Depend on yourself or another human being and fail woefully.
