The dangers of success

Many will raise eye brows to hear someone talk of the dangers of success. Yet, I say it loudly and clearly. Success is more dangerous than many are aware. Success has claimed more lives than many people are aware. Success has destroyed more people than we are aware.

Success is definitely the one thing that people run after more than any other thing in the world. People want to become rich. That is success. People want to pass their exams. That is success. People want to rise in position. That is success.

All these aspirations and others that constitute success are not bad. In fact, they are good. The problem is in how we go for them; and what use we make of them after we have acquired them.

If you go after success in unscrupulous ways, you may end up very badly. Many have ended very badly because of the way they wanted to achieve success. Many have even lost their lives because of the way they went after success.

Many have also gotten into trouble or lost their lives because of what they did as a result of their success. If you succeed to gain a promotion and while in your new big office you start to mismanage the finances, or to take bribe from people, you may end in trouble.

Many people abuse their office and this lands them in trouble. Many people succeed to have plenty of money and then start using it to live recklessly. This has led some people to early death through accidents and other means.

Thus, I say success is dangerous. Success has many dangers. I could go on giving you examples of how success can be dangerous but that is not necessary. It is very clear. While success is what we all want, we should not think that success is all honey. Success can be very dangerous if it is wrongly pursued or wrongly managed.

The dangers of success are real. It is a double-edged sword.Be careful how you go after success. Be careful how you use your success.Cover Enjoy Life

  1. The duality of success. Success from within is the only success that will last. When we define success from what we have outside ourselves and God’s love, we will see it fade and quickly become un-fulfilling as the ego fears others will see us as unsuccessful. It’s an endless, sad loop.

  2. everything has a positive side and at the same time a negative side. no one can say about anything that it is good from every aspect. and, on the other hand, a bad thing can be praised by someone.
