The devil’s a liar

The devil came our way;
Briefly, he paid us a devilish visit;
Which almost caused us disaster;
We went to bed lips tight;
And parted next morning without a word;
Laughter and joy alien to us;
What lay ahead, none could predict;
Clearly a storm hung in the air;
But just as the devil crept in unnoticed,
An angel slipped in;
Touched my sweet heart’s sweetheart;
And she was the first to love;
No doubt she’s such a sweetheart;
Communication brought us healing;
And now our love roars with laughter;
Truly, the devil’s a liar.
