Scared to Step Out

stepping out

Once upon a time, I was a brash young woman who didn’t care what others thought of me and how I acted; they didn’t like it? Well that was their issue not mines.

But one day a little kid came into my life and I saw that the attitude I had toward life changed I had to be upstanding citizen to raise an upstanding citizen and if he followed by previous interactions then he would turn out to be not such a nice person and I didn’t want that for my child nor children (3).

So learned to control my impulsive behavior and just cruise with the life that I had built with my children.. Now I am not saying that I am complete saint Not in this lifetime, I still tell it like it is but with thinking involved in regards to who I tell.

But with this control I see that I have lost my ability to just go outside of myself and tell things, I sometimes need to talk with people but I get so tongue tied because I feel the judgement of my words are going to have me engage in a conversation where I need to defend my views and then the thinking begins and I am placed into the spotlight.. I use to love the spotlight, how do I go back to a little of the spotlight?

Well I joined an organization called Women Entrepreneurs of America (WEA) and let me tell you these women are not going to let you rest on your morals.  Once they found out that I am not a shy person and on top of that a AVON Representative they asked me all type of questions in regards to what I wanted to bring to this brand.

I answered with honesty.. I really don’t know .. that besides that of selling the product and getting free product I have the slightest idea..did I want to build a team? Did I want to make lots of money? Did I want to network with others? Sure doesn’t everyone but how do I go about making this happen?

As months have gone by I have discovered the answers to these and many more questions. Yes I want to build a team with AVON, what no one knows about me is that I like to have people that will listen to my ideas and concerns and the solutions that I come up with to solve them without having a manager in the background stating that it is not the correct way, I like listening to other collaborate on ideas that are passed around and shaping them into great ideas. I have learned that the networking aspect is great for the AVON brand because alot of individuals out there that are unaware of the brand of AVON and that we are still a viable merchandiser in the world.

I think that I am now achieving the best of what I want to achieve with AVON at the moment because I am networking with people, I am going out into the world and encouraging others to look at the brand once again and I see that we need to have more people sharing the information of AVON and how it brings great resources not only in cosmetics, fashion, jewelry, bath and body, etc.  but in money making to people. Networking will make you think about the objective before you and sharing the brochure will allow you to showcase your knowledge either as a beginner or a expert on AVON.
