How sweet do you say love is?
People keep telling me love is sweet;
But I am still to be convinced
That love is sweet;
I know not love to be sweet;
I know love to be bitter;
What I know is the bitter taste of love;
Where do we find the love that tastes so sweet?
Is it lodged somewhere on top of the mountain?
Where it’s hard to find?
Or it’s buried somewhere in the valley;
Where one must dig to find?
That is what I want to know;
And if none of these,
Tell me if it’s in the ocean depths;
Hard to reach by someone like me;
I want to taste that sweet taste of love;
I don’t only want to hear about it, but to see;
And above all, to taste;
What I know now is the bitter taste of love.
