The Gentle Giants

The summertime breeze
Rustling through the leaves…
While listening to the whispers of these trees.
I leave my cares and anxieties behind
Feeling the comfort and warmth of being near
These massive giants standing here…

Away from the crass and rude concrete jungle
Seeking solace seems to be
My constant refrain…
Quietude. Serenity. Tranquility and calm.
I suddenly feel so very intensely aware
Of all this noise and strife that surrounds my life.As I find myself amidst these gentle giants
That have always watched over me
Offering freedom, solace and quiet to my mind…
Delightfully immersed in joy; Breaking free
Of mundane chores… In the company of birds
And butterflies, I donned my hiking gear.
