Has Satan found a safe haven in the church?
Demonology is not a profession I care to indulge in or any other witchcraft for that fact. Too many unexplained phenomena occur quite frequently in places supposedly undisturbed and left considered sacred to the holy. I’m beginning to wonder, has Satan found a safe haven in the church?
Where our Holy Father administers, the congregation withers. I see signs going against the grain. Many people should be disturbed to think Satan dwells where voices call out in tongues. I listen to the tones as octaves are out of harmony. Joyful noises aren’t so joyful anymore. He is destroying the very existence of the congregation.
Some believers are preoccupied with outside endeavors and have lost their point of center. God may be with them but Satan runs rampant in their life. (For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs: 1 Timothy 6:10) Steepled sanctuaries are becoming more like financial institutions. So, folks are flocking to private, little non-denominational houses of worship and homespun bible studies; keeping in mind that God comes first.
Memories remind me of the olden days of tiny steeples along the road. Those who traveled under heavy laden could stop to pray and perhaps get a hot meal. Odd, we may have returned to the older days of totalitarianism worship. I watch the young flock to younger congregations and the old trying to justify their absence. And divisions conquer as Satan separates what’s left of a family tradition.
But personally, I know better… while listening to the choir, the sun is setting on my vestibule. All of God’s creatures are saying a prayer as the sun fades behind the clouds. I love my life. I’m not rich, monetarily speaking, but I’m far from poor as my faith is worth a fortune! My paycheck comes in answered prayers. Celibate to God, my spirit is undivided. Commitments resonate from the messages above.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:11-12)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)
Satan is wise. His method is to infiltrate the church and work from within to destroy it. He uses people and problems. Satan has penetrated our churches and he is succeeding in draining the strength and power. Revival seems to be gone in America. More people are being born than being saved by far. The Devil is stealing our influence, and even our churches are being used against the cause of Christ.
Ways Satan infiltrates the church:
- Formal houses of worship: The less power with God a church has, the more ceremony will be involved. This is a day of bowing, chanting and saying meaningless prayers. Everything will be done to please people, and every decision is made in light of what others will say or do. God’s will and plan are not regarded. The plain teaching of the Bible is ignored. Churches are busy with clubs, sales, bakes, projects, etc. but where is the power of God? When a needy sinner goes to one of these formal churches for help, they quickly recommend that he see a psychiatrist.
- Members are living sinful: Church is just another club that will help them feel good about themselves or advance their business or give them more contacts. The church of today is filled with whimpering, jealous, defeated Christians. They are worldly, selfish and cold. Instead of love for the Father, it is the lust of the flesh.
- Cults: Thousands have followed the teachings of men and not of God. They have started religions to suit themselves. Many souls will spend eternity in Hell because of a smooth-talking religious racketeer who loves power and money.
- Congregation yields to sin: In the Bible we have the account of many who failed when they were tempted. Eve let God down and disgraced her family…Adam said, oh well, and took the plunge too! The whole human race has suffered ever since. Solomon gave in to his weakness for women and disobeyed the plain leading of the Lord. David was tempted by flesh, and his lust led to the sin of adultery with Bathsheba. He uses tongues, disloyalty, pride, false teaching, and our own flesh to his benefit – if we’ll allow it!
