Insanely jealous

A spiteful look covered her face;
When she raised her eyes, I shivered;
The presence of the woman in white
Seemed invidious to her;
I felt terrified by her hostility
And asked her:
“Is jealousy gnawing at you?
Why do you look so rancorous?”
No response came;
She peered at me, more resentful;
I wished she could take off
Virulent thoughts from her mind;
They seemed vitriolic and odious;
She was insanely jealous.
