The satisfaction in knitting

The thing I miss seeing these days is the sight of people knitting and with a smile on their faces.  It used to be the thing one sees while travelling on the bus, train, coach, team and in cars.  Just the thing to keep the hands and mind occupied and make the journey appear to go quickly.

It’s the joy of having the personal touch attached to a gift or a product for sale that makes knitting worthwhile.  I am sure it’s  a great feeling of satisfaction.  I recently found some knitting needles in my old sewing box.  The thought crossed my mind to take up knitting again and now a few days later I conveniently get to write about knitting.  What a coincidence!

A retired midwife who enjoyed a satisfying career after years of rejecting it as a career choice. After becoming a Mum for the second time, somehow I just could not resist the call to midwifery any longer. Being part a family's important event gave more insight into how women, me included, both manage and sometimes muddle through pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. Wisdom shared and gleaned from stories as well as healthy lifestyle tips and healthy recipes will hopefully answer your need. Someone once said to me that we have one body, one life, one voice so why not make it count. So here's to looking after all three and making a difference. Enjoy and I welcome any comments.

  1. Great! I love doing it too. I love the knitting process much more than crochet. It’s also such a socially accepted craft too! Meaning, you can take it anywhere.
