A Victory Should be Celebrated as a Funeral

O ye who, flush with victory, prevail
O'er all less fortunate in your surround
Subservient the seas on which you sail
Nor one dissenting murmur there be found

Think on the wisdom of the Tao de Ching
Which teaches clear that every victory
The which bards of posterity will sing
Is but a funeral actually

Cooperation brings you in its wake
Mutual benefits uncounted, but
When choose you by base brutal force to take
Them, you'd best think before you strut

Over those by your hand mis'rable fell
So carve yourself a present place in hell
