Capetown Mother

My child
My baby
My golden one

For you I would
Walk on sharp knives
Without thinking twice

But I must think twice now
Though my mind is slack
My body paralyzed
My heart drowning in tears

Do I drink this water
And live to bury you
Or give you the water
And let you live uncared for?
