Warning- Heatwave!  30 C in Sweden/Arctic Circle, 35 C in parts of the UK, above 40 C in Japan

Sweden has a heatwave of 30 C, not many people would reckon anywhere near the Arctic Circle to have such hot weather.

London, the South East, the Midlands and parts of the North are experiencing a heatwave too. Temperatures of up to 35 C is predicted and again people are gathering around swimming pools and beaches.  All are advised to keep out of the sun from 11 am to 3 pm, to drink half a glass of water every hour, to use sun screen lotions to protect their skin.  Employers should consider adjusting the working times and environment of both those working  indoors and outside.   The green pastures of the UK have turned brown making farmers have the dilemma of no food and no water for their livestock.  They are having to use their winter stock, and bring water in, plant nurseries have seen a reduction in their visitor numbers and food farmers are throwing away over ripe fruit like strawberries as no pickers could be found to stand in for the normal scheduled ones.

Japan is sweltering in a heat of 40 C and many older people have been taken to hospital.  Sprinklers are positioned on street corners to help people cool down.
