HEATWAVE AROUND THE WORLD
From the American continent, through the British Isles, Europe, Middle East across to Japan temperatures are soaring between 35 C to 51C. In many countries, some of which are Western countries it is leading to shortage of water, threat to human health and life, wildfire damage to numerous persons, animals and the environment. Various scientists and institutions are calling on building firms and governments to rethink the design of buildings. This would help their citizens to cope with and be safe in these high temperatures.
Many architects and scientists also think the extreme heat should be a warning for the world’s citizens, countries and governments to be more responsible and determined to rid the causes of global warming. This must be an everyday consideration.
EU- US TRADE TENSIONS
President Trump and EU Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier have met to talk and stop the much publicised the tit for tat Trade sanctions between US and many countries like the EU. Trump is not happy that the US has $140 billion less goods going to the EU. The two leaders have agreed to stop any sanctions
10th BRICS SUMMIT 2018 IN SOUTH AFRICA
The BRICS SUMMIT took place in Johannesburg with South Africa’s Ramaphosa, China’s X. Jiping, India’s N. Modi, Russia’s V. Putin and Brazil’s M. Temer. The leaders of the world’s emerging economies came together with many topics to ponder and sort out. One particular topic was the agreement that trade wars would harm the world economies
