Aid Sector Accused of ‘ Complacency Verging On Complicity’ Over Sexual Abuse By Staff

MPs in the UK Parliament concluded, that the Aid sector had failed the very people it is meant to take care of in many countries and places like Haiti.  The International Development Committee wrote a damning report about the failures.  It showed there was endemic and historical sexual abuse by the Aid employees.  They called for the setting up of an Independent Ombudsman to help the survivors through the system and a register of staff who had been abusers so they don’t pass through charity to charity undetected.

Elections in Zimbabwe- A Tense Wait For Results

The ZANU-PF party of Mr Mnangagwa is claiming victory as is the MDC Opposition party,  led by Mr Nelson Chamisa.  It was a very high turnout of millions of voters wanting to vote to make democracy work.  Many in the cities, towns and rural areas woke up very early to queue at the Voting Stations, which opened at 7 a.m..  However towards the evening, there were accusations of vote rigging and the government has called for shops to close early and for civil obedience to be observed in the country.
