Sir V. S. Naipaul, 87, Controversial Author and Nobel Laureate Dies

The Trinidadian born, British citizen, author of over 30 books, some were novels and others accounts of his travels died with his family around him.   His Indo-Nepalese descent, life growing up in the Caribbean and adult years in the UK and the wider world gave him ample material for his fiction and non-fiction work.   His first novel was ‘A House for Mr Biswas’,  he won the Booker Prize in 1971 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2001.

Manchester Carnival Party Ends Up With Injured Revellers

The community of family, friends, neighbours, Police and Community workers celebrated the Manchester Carnival joyously.  In the early hours of  yesterday someone fired shots into a party causing injury to a number of people.  12 party goers including 2 children were taken to hospital and the search goes on for the criminal.

NASA Launches Parker Solar Probe To Get Data From The Sun

The Parker Solar Probe will travel at 430,000 mph, the fastest any man made invention has ever done.  NASA wants the probe to find out the mysteries of the sun by going closer to it and collecting data.  The scientist Dr Parker who first discovered the Solar wind to make this mission possible by aiding the Parker Probe in its journey, lived to see the launch.
