Tackling Obesity- Calories To Be Shown On Menus In Restaurants, Cafes And Takeaways

One way tackling obesity is the plan by Ministers in UK to help people make better dining decisions and they will be better informed.  Talks of strains occurring between the Government and the hospitality industry have been fears suggested in view of its ‘nanny state’ connotations.  It has been hinted that, there could be some relaxation of the rules for smaller cafes and business whose menu changes regularly.  However, The Treasury has warned the plans could be ‘burdensome’ for the 26,000 small businesses and it could force them to raise food prices and cut jobs.

Wetherspoons is a national chain of  pub businesses, other larger chains like Mc Donalds and Pizza Express has voluntarily adopted calorie count on their menu.

The Alcantara Space Centre is poised to launch small commercial rockets, situated near the equator it wants to draw U.S, companies with the pull of its lower cost as a business incentive for companies wanting to utilise its facilities.  It has to agree to safeguard U.S. technology, if it wants some of the $300 billion-a-year space business of micro-satellites. The launch  site is on the Atlantic coast and because of its equatorial location, it can cut fuel costs by a third therefore for heavier payloads.
