A Vineyard In London With Boosted Harvest

You can think of the many attractions in London but not a vineyard.  There is one and with the sizzling summer sunshine the harvest has come in, yielding four times higher than previous harvests.  Forty Hall estate is in Enfield in the northern part of  London and twenty tons of grapes is expected this year, that will be 20,000 bottles of wine.  Half of the wine made will be sparkling.  Vineyards all over England will be benefiting from the summer heat.

The vineyard is a not-for-profit social enterprise run by locals, where volunteers do some of the work including picking.  Supporters of the venture are prepared to go on the volunteers waiting list.  English wine production has increased dramatically in quality and quantity.  Taittinger, known for their Champagne planted vines in England last year.

Founded in 2009 by Sarah Vaughan, Forty Hall estate is located in the grounds of a Grade 1 listed  manor house.  Forty Hall Farm is run by Capel Manor College, it has an orchard, forest garden, market garden and rare-breed livestock.

Joel 2:25-26

“I will restore to you the years the swarming locusts have eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.  You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you.  And my people shall never be put to shame.”
