Fair Isle Now Has 24-Hour Electricity

With a population of 55, the people of Fair Isle who only had electricity between 7.30 am and 11.30 pm, but now with wind turbines and solar panels they can have 24-hour energy source from electricity.  It is Britain’s most remote place, situated between the Orkney and the Shetlands.  No matter where in the world we live it is important to appreciate having electricity.

Flash Floods In France

Flash floods in Var on Thursday caused the deaths of a number of people.  Cars were tossed about by the water and some were seen swept toward the sea as the level of the River Garonettte rose.  Local authorities have advised people not to use the roads that have flooded and to find and stay in safe shelter.

“A Beautiful Day” To Celebrate Business

In order to promote local businesses in the region, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry  for Nice-Cote d’Azur has organised a ‘A Beautiful Day”  The event will have 4,000 members in 17 towns across the Alpes Maritimes participating.  Shoppers have surprises in store, in the form of prizes and promotions as well as a free car park.

A retired midwife who enjoyed a satisfying career after years of rejecting it as a career choice. After becoming a Mum for the second time, somehow I just could not resist the call to midwifery any longer. Being part a family's important event gave more insight into how women, me included, both manage and sometimes muddle through pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. Wisdom shared and gleaned from stories as well as healthy lifestyle tips and healthy recipes will hopefully answer your need. Someone once said to me that we have one body, one life, one voice so why not make it count. So here's to looking after all three and making a difference. Enjoy and I welcome any comments.
