The Impactful Christian Teacher

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
Ephesians 4:11 NLT

What does it mean to be impactful? For me it means to make positive, significant difference and be result oriented.

As a teacher, it is very important that you impact yourself first before you can impact others. This means that the amount of impact you have on others or on your students is directly proportional to the one you made on yourself.

During the day Jesus taught the people in the Temple area. At night he went out of the city and stayed all night on the Mount of Olives.

Every morning all the people got up early to go listen to Jesus at the Temple.
Luke 21:37‭-‬38 ERV

If you read the last part of verse 37 carefully you’d find something very significant about Jesus. At night He would go out and spend the night on the mount that is called Olive.

At night Jesus would withdraw Himself from the people to go have some personal time with His father. That’s when He gets recharged and empowered spiritually. That speaks volume doesn’t it?

As a teacher, a relationship with God is absolutely critical to the amount or level of impact you will be able to make. As a teacher you can’t give what you don’t have and if you don’t have a relationship with God who’s the giver of wisdom and understanding how can you make any meaningful impact?.

As a Christian teacher you need to establish your source. You need to study and get grounded with the word “scripture” to show yourself approved.

But He answered and said, It is written;

Jesus was was able to overcome the tempter because He knew the word.

And your teaching should be clearly right so that you cannot be criticized. Then anyone who is against you will be ashamed. There will not be anything bad they can say about us.
Titus 2:8 ERV

As a teacher you must live what you teach and your relationship with God will determine how impactful and effective you’d be in your calling as a teacher.

Why are you teaching? What’s your role as a teacher? What’s your objective? This is where purpose comes in. As a teacher you must have what you use to assess and measure yourself to see if your purpose and objectives are being achieved.

The main purpose of any Christian teacher should be for God’s glory.

Then Jesus said to them, Go to all people everywhere in the world. Tell God’s good news to everyone.
Mark 16:15 EASY

Many thanks for coming around, until next time..
