Serving God through marriage

When God fashions you and you become ready to serve him in a particular area, he calls you to it. Since the creation of the world, God has been calling different people to serve in his vineyard in different ways.

God has called my spouse and I to serve in his vineyard as a couple.

All married people are called to serve as married people. Priests and religious are called to serve in that capacity.

It is not everyone who hears God’s call. And it is not everyone who hears God’s call who answers it. Many people hear and answer God’s call but do not do it in a way that pleases God.

Those who have heard and answered God’s call in a way that pleases God have been abundantly rewarded.

Mary heard and answered God’s call in a way that pleased God and became the mother of our Lord. She is an all-time role model. All generations call her blessed. She is the greatest saint in heaven.

Joseph heard and answered God’s call in a way that pleased God and became the foster father of our Lord. He is the second greatest saint in heaven. He is a role model for all men.

Paul was called and when he answered and worked in a way that pleased God, he became the apostle of the Gentiles.

We can go on and on. You definitely know others. You are welcome to mention them.

It is an established fact that all those who answer God’s call in a way that pleases God are always greatly rewarded.

If you have been called to serve as a married person. It is a big call and you will be greatly rewarded if you answer that call in a way that pleases God. Look around you. All the couples who have answered God’s call to matrimony in a way that pleases God have been or are being rewarded in a big way.

A question you may be asking is: how does one answer God’s call to married life in a way that pleases God?
