Aftermath Of Pittsburgh Shooting

A peaceful morning in a Jewish community was shattered when an assailant walked into the Tree of Life Congregation and shot at them.  When he entered shouting anti-Semitic slurs, worshippers were praying in different rooms on the Saturday morning.  Armed with an assault rifle and some hand guns he proceeded to shoot at them and 11 of the congregation were killed.  The man was identified as Robert Bowers, 46, he exchanged gunfire with armed officers who had responded to the incident, then barricaded himself on the third floor before surrendering to the Police and Federal officers.  He has been charged with 29 criminal counts, he did not seem to have any previous criminal record.  Many in the community gathered in three separate inter-faith vigils to pray for the victims.  The Governor of Pennsylvania gave a press conference in Pittsburgh and condemned this wicked act.  President Trump spoke against the violence and leaders around the world  including the Israeli Prime Minister condemned the attack.    Critics of the President Trump are blaming him for the hateful rhetoric against different ethnic groups and immigrants.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that criminal charges by the Justice Department, “could lead to the death penalty.”
