Today is a day to spend meditating on one of the most important happenings in human history, Jesus Christ’s ascension into heaven. How amazing indeed!
And in just a short while he will send us an advocate.
Have you ever taken time to meditate on the Ascension?
What comes to your mind when you see Jesus ascending into heaven? If you were to share what touches you personally, what would you say?
The fact that Jesus leaves the earth to heaven touches me in a very special way. I see the earth, to mean the realm of the body and heaven to be the realm of the spirit.
I see Jesus leaving the material world to a spiritual world. Leaving earthly things to Heavenly things.
I see Jesus inviting me to do like him – leaving all my earthly desires, earthly worries, cares, concerns, earthly riches, dreams, ambitions to go to the Father.
Jesus’ Ascension challenges me to seek not the kingdom of the world but the kingdom of heaven. And all the other things will follow as scripture says.
Instead of staying in my worldly ambitions, and waywardness, I should rise to a higher world of righteousness.
Could you share with us what Jesus’ ascension means you? Does it challenge you as it has me?
