I smiled (Love poem 103 by Ngobesing Suh Romanus

I smiled;
Then I laughed;
I couldn’t have failed to;
It was too good;
Did I say too good?
Not too good;
It was so good;
What happened to me
Was so good
That I smiled;
And laughed;
And was happy;
You may want to know
What happened to me;
My sweetheart agreed to marry me.
My honey told me, “I love me.”
And promised to be mine,
Not for a while,
But for ever.
Isn’t that sweet?
As soon as I heard
Those words,
My heart glowed;
My face shone;
I smiled;
I laughed.
I was extremely happy.
