A dream, is the contemplation of the possibility to do something. – Robert Schuler
How many minutes do you spend everyday not working or even doing stuff related to your dream?. Few right? But hey, wait!. May be you don’t understand that those minutes/hours when summed up as a whole, may mean a lot. According to SOPHINIK® MentorLabs, 67% of employees spend only 1 hour a day focused on what truly fulfills them. And this is mostly at night/owl-mornings. Most of people’s time is spent on the less important things. As the famous self-help hashtag goes, #PutFirstThingsFirst. Surprisingly most of us, find ourselves to be doing the opposite.
I happened to experience what I’m writing today in my college years. With lots of class works, assignments and tests nearly all my time was eaten up doing things (frankly speaking) I never enjoyed. This went on till I bounced on a Fearless Motivation video that helped me analyze my priorities very definitely.
HOW TO DO IT THE RIGHT WAY
Spending time with the imaginations, inaudible sounds and grotesque pictures in our minds is a key fundamental for living a life that makes an impact. Through this you’ll set effective goals and plans with actionable steps. Ultimately you’ll feel natural fulfilment in your every days, even if life gets tough. There’s no greater satisfaction in life than seating alone, in a room where the buzz of the world is shut out. It’s you, your thoughts, your journal and your pen – for 30 minutes to 90 minutes this is time well spent.
Spending time with your dream doesn’t mean laying up fake visions of the future (this will only lead you to worry and anxiety). As Tonny Robbins once said: “A dream without a plan is just a wish”. There’s a significant population who dream while in real sense they’re wishing… Ferrari, Vegas, Yatch supreme… That’s very wrong. You should set up the plan(s) to your dream and work on them each day without excuses of lacking time.
If you’re not spending considerable amount of time doing anything about your dreams, chances are you’re wasting pathetic time elsewhere with less meaning to you.
To others, spending time with your dream may mean going against cultural norms and family principles. Critics will rise, haters will troll around all you do and so much negative references to you.
Haters gonna hate hate. Heartbreakers gonna break break. But I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake; shake it off shake it off. – Taylor Swift
Sometimes it’ll mean dropping a course/job/career path. Do not fear going in 100% that’s what happens to all who choose a different path of life. The very few who travel the road not taken. Trust me, not everything will go right, what is guaranteed when you choose this path is eternal soul fulfilment, which money or position never can bring.
I urge you to nurture your dreams, for out of them will flow the riches of life.
