Scars ๐Ÿ

Moments of misery
along with memories of past suffering and pain
Propel me to see
what I’ve become
when I look at those stains.

Now I’m collecting all those pieces
which were
once left to shatter
joining them together
with love and faith
as I climb the ‘time’ ladder.

Tears, agony and sorrow
all sewed – together oh! I love these scars
because they remind me
that now this heart of mine
beats a little more stronger.

Meditation ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ

โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

If I tell you that regardless of how much money you are ready to spend for that one thing in your life, the one thing which can’t be bought by any amount in your pocket but just by a simple task of self care in your day… Would you take a step ahead?
What I’m mentioning here is ” peace ” my freinds.
๐ŸŒธ Peace is not happiness.. It’s not being settled either.. It something so pure and magical and it resides in you.. In each of us.

Today I’m sharing one of my favourite self care practice to achieve that inner peace… peace for mind, body and soul.
You’ve probably heard about it from many people .. It’s MEDITATION.
๐ŸŒธMeditation is something you learn by yourself.. by practicing and calming yourself on your own.. No other person can help you achieve that inner peace which comes with meditation. Today I’m sharing some of theese simple tips to get you started on this beautiful journey.

1st

Focus on your breathing ๐Ÿ’จ

So the first thing you need to do before you start meditation is empty your mind.. Just don’t think about anything.. Now this is really hard to do as there is always something going in our mind๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ญ.. So a simple trick is to focus on your breathing.. Take deep breath and listen to your breathing… Feel how your diaphragm changes when you breathe in and breathe out and wallaah! you are away from your endless thoughts.

2nd

Music ๐ŸŽถ

If you really want to connect to a particular thought during you meditation .. pick your music accordingly.. try music with nature sounds like flowing of water.. chirping of birds… wind passing through trees.. Or sound of rain… Theese are some of my favorite… and if you want to take your meditation more on a holy path.. try music with prayers and holy sounds like ๐Ÿ•‰ etc. The important point is it should lift your mood.

3rd

LIGHT ๐Ÿฎ

Now this one totally depends on how you like it. You need to make sure the light setting in the room you are meditating in is not too dark and not too bright. I personally like it a little dim so I draw the curtains when I meditate. Meditation in natural light is the best. ๐ŸŒž

4rth

POSTURE ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

I believe this is the most important thing while you meditate. In order to feel your body and your breath going down and up, you need to sit properly. I practice sitting down on a mat and crossing my legs with my hands resting on my knees and my eyes closed. You should sit with a back straight.. this helps your whole body to feel lighter rather than straining only one part of your body. When I sit straight I can feel my body stretching upward with each breath.. it’s just a mild stretch.

โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Hope you find theese tips useful and they inspire you to start self care practices too.

Also feel free to comment your favourite self care practices and what brings you peace. ๐Ÿ“

Have a good day. โค๏ธ
Thank you

We all have that one special place which always fill us with the thought of happiness and what’s really going in our life ๐Ÿ’—

I walked down the dirt road
that lead me to a place
A place that always reminds
to adjudge the gratitude in my life.

I sat down on the plateau
and stared at the lake
the peace it fills me with
faded all my heart breaks.

The breeze through the trees
drifted my tucked hair around
slowly sinked me into felicity
shedding all limiting bounds.

Respiring the view inside
drawing the emotions out
I wrote down what my happy place
was really all about…..

Poem

Moonlit Dream Dancer
In the blushing blue twilight
A full moon suddenly emerges,
Scrubbing clean the heaped and lunar kissed cloud tops,
Removing the disguise of the dying day.
Brooding black cloud now
Shredded apart by sultry off shore breezes;
Keening zephyr winds rise, ripping open the clouds, revealing
Oh that round, shining cool, coy moon
Surrounded by ebullient stars!
She emerges
Unadorned, unblemished, shameless beauty,
A jewel of brilliant seas and shades
Dancing in the sky in this dream from far across waving oceans.

In my daydream
She shines silently, remotely, incomplete.
Yet now she is emerging.
Beauty in motion
Silently beckoning,
Bone white brilliance,
Pivoting on a passing cloud
Just close enough to guild its edges,
Framed and freed again by the reopening ink of night,
Her light now outshining her surrounding stars.

I gaze at her sublime light shining in my mind from afar
And paint her tranquil gaze
With colour and the untranslatable sound of dreams;
Suddenly she becomes
Crimson and gold and silver sash
Ebony and ruby and sapphire
Berry brown arms
Nimble palms open
Arched wrists
Revel and rapture,
No longer just the moon.
In this dream
She is
A dancer

Hey everyone!! ๐ŸŒธ

We hope November is treating you well โ˜˜๏ธ

First, thank you for taking part in the contest very energetically with your lovely and inspiring works !! We heartily thanks every contestant who took time to share their masterpieces. The theme was “My Dream Life ” โค๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฅ

We got a lot of entries and the competition was real tough. Here are the winners :

โ˜˜๏ธ First winner : Jasmeet Singh

Poem :

The life of which I dream is not just a delusion,

of all the possible things, itโ€™s a fusion,

a lush green place, enchanted with the sound of flowing water,

composed of a big or small, but an owned shelter,

a job that may bring joy or despair,

all that matters is that it should spare,

enough time to spend with the family,

with a money earned in large or scantily,

With a greed of a little more time,

so that I can write another rhyme,

to pursue my passion, to avoid any repent,

to take it to a level, where it can even pay any rent,

all of this, to be a part of a world,

that unfurls all the good things twirled,

at least no more hunger, no scarcity of fresh water,

Reduced pollution and a beautiful weather,

no more corruption, no more wars,

a world wherein people can travel with ease, even in cars,

to cherish and learn the cultures, of which others are proud,

shattering the hate for anything, with nothing to shroud,

A good healthcare, that adorns my dream,

with the inevitable diseases, being crushed like whipped cream,

right to study, where is a mandated law,

so that children can help this beautiful world, get rid of any flaw,

to carry forward my dream to a place,

where it is no longer a dream, but a case,

With a strong urge, I again repeat,

this is not impossible, but a retreat,

for all of us to conquer, what all is distasteful,

to shatter it to the core, to bring out the beautiful.

โ˜˜๏ธ First runner up : Marie Abanga

Poem :

Please let me be

for the world

Please let me be queer

let me be queer itโ€™s my life

be all the regular I donโ€™t care

Please let me be a misfit

I am done trying to fit

You can do all the fit in I donโ€™t care

I come from a broken home

I now lead a broken home

keep your fixed home

He cries mama

she teased my papa is gay

And so what I ask?

gay means happy

why be any judge?

and then go to church?

sing unconditional love

and love so conditionally?

They call me a rascal because I love pascal

he is such a friend

we trust each other so

sinners you say?

who did HE come for?

Winners they who followed HIM

Shabby may be the dress code

merry the constant mode

you can care for your body

Iโ€™ll care for my mind

I envy you not

spare your nod

Please let me be.

โ˜˜๏ธ Second Runner-up : Ken

Poem :

Above the city, hung the moon,
Colourful spots on ground
Where flowers and orchard-trees were fenced
With lofty walls around

Below the city I abide
Where fight for shelter
Under these machine toys
Was the pride above my shoulder

Filled in my prayers
Was the day to be accepted
By a passerby
Under the moon
Under my pride
Under my tent
That came to past

๐ŸŒธ Seeing the amazing entries that we got, we decided to give a Bonus Award for the poet who’s work was quite off the theme but was unique and engaging . ๐ŸŒธ

โ˜˜๏ธ Bonus Award : Vaibhav Bhatnagar

Poem :

Hurt used to come
to me,
in waves.
Leaving behind,
the half tide
of a high.
Trading with me
a friend,
sometimes a lover.
Sometimes, both.

But now,
Hurt is like a lake-
Strangely still,
except,
a few ripples.
Ripples of
Hollow smiles
And
Empty dreams.

Hurt is now felt
with my every breath.
Its heaviness
crushing all
Iโ€™d ever treasured;
For hurt has now
Sewed its cocoon,
Found its haven-
Deep in my heart.

๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ Congratulations!!! ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ

Break free ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ

I’m not holding up
this pain anymore
as I don’t see you
at the end of the shore.

This dream of ‘us’
was always a surmise
You played your mind games
tricked me into compromise.

I caressed your flaws
like waves in the sea
while you asked me to leave
what was part of me.

I gave my heart to you
but you crumpled my freedom
and when I asked for a hault
the hate in you blossomed.

Your grasp became the chains
as you clenched me to the floor
so it’s time to break free
and leave you to implore.
