Expectations for day

Today is loaded with promise;
My yesterday was thrilling;
I think of it with joy;
I met an irresistible person,
Who significantly impacted my life;
A gem of inspiration;
I also read an impactful book;
Which lifted my spirits beyond the ordinary;
And stimulated and energized me;
My expectations for today are high;
I anticipate much fun.

An adorable girl

Today, I stumbled into a girl like no other girl I have met before.

She was so adorable. I had never seen someone in Lokokto looking so cute. Where was she from?

Her dark hair, and bright eyes were the first that caught my attention.

I got closer to her. Never before had I seen such elegance. Her dress was magnificent.

My mind wondered back to my mother. I remembered that when I was leaving home that morning, she was in the kitchen.

Her cooking was top class. The rice and stew we had for lunch was so delicious I asked for more. “Can this girl cook like her mother?” I silently asked myself.

I wanted to know more about her; but how was I going to do it?

Many ideas came to my mind.

“Go talk to her,” I could her a voice in me saying.

But just immediately, I got a counter voice from the opposition bench still inside me categorically refusing.

I got confused and worried at the same time because I wanted her. I was now sure: I wanted her.

I didn’t want to miss the unique opportunity. I might never meet her again.

The first voice came again. this time, more powerfully. I gathered my courage and took a step… (to be continued)

How I become so rich

My story is one of extremes. Extreme pain, extreme joy. Extreme darkness, extreme light. Rock bottom to mountain top. Rags to riches.

My story teaches me some lessons about life. Top amongst them, you can rise from oblivion to stardom. You can go from a hut to an ivory tower.

How can that be possible? I will share that secret with. First, my story:

I was once in rags. I never knew what it meant to wear a new dress, new shoes, and new whatever.

I went for days without food. I would watch people with a mixture of envy, bitterness, wonder and sorrow as they wined and dined like lords.

It looked like I was not born for the good things of life.

And many people, without saying so, made me understand I could never amount to anything; that my place was at the bottom; that I had no choice but to accept my lot in life.

But I refused to accept this declaration. Some voice within me, silent but strong, kept telling me I was not born to be among the downtrodden; that despite what I was going through, I had a place at the top which I needed to gun for and claim.

This was what I did. That was the voice I listened to. I set out to create a new story of my life.

I told my God in the silence of my heart I knew he had a great plan for me and I would leave no stone unturned to make it come true.

I asked him to be on my side; to help me; to guide me to my destiny as designed by him.

My decision taken, I went to work. Each time someone or something told me I was meant to be at the bottom, I refused to listen. Instead, I told myself I was meant to be at the top.

It was with this belief in mind that I kept working. Day in and day out, I worked.

I worked. I sweated. Even when I was tired, I continued to work. I strained every nerve.

I met with disappointment. I failed many times in many projects I tried; but refused to call it quits.

Many times I reminded myself that quitters never win and winners never quit.

It was a long, hard journey. The road was not smooth. Many potholes paved my path. Many times I slipped and fell. But I did not stay down. I got up and continued.

It went on and on. Then, before long, I began to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

And before I knew it, I was living a brand new life. I was living in an ivory tower. Today, I rank among the richest men in the world.

I have given my story that you may learn if you want to make life me. There is no reason for you to waste your life in misery. You can become whatever you want to be.

Get what I did to become one if the richest persons in the world and follow the same steps. You will become as rich as me, if not more.

Our story

My story is my story;
Your story is your story;
Mine is full of twists,
And turns;
Some turns are good;
Some turns are bad;
It’s a complex
And mixed story;
A mix of sweet and bitter;
Of laughter and tears;
A story that has thrilled many,
Inspired many,
And disheartened many;
It’s a story of love,
Of the twists and turns
Of life;
That exudes sacrifices;
And triumphs.
Its a story of success
And failure;
It’s my own very story.
What of you?
We all have our story;
Some chapters, we remember,
Some, we have forgotten;
Never to be rememberd;
But whether remembered
Or forgotten,
It remains our story.

Happiness born of sadness

She was thrown out of her marriage. That was the saddest thing that ever happened to her. She never, for one moment thought such a thing could happen to her. She cried as she had never done before; and her eyes were swollen. She almost committed suicide. But just when she was about to set on it, a voice from nowhere, so loud and clear said to her:

“Stop! What is it that you want to do? Are you blind? Can’t you read the writing on the wall?”

She stopped; and first, was afraid. Who had spoken? And where was he? She had no answer; and it rang through her mind that an angel of God was talking to her.

Yes! God’s messenger had spoken. Who was she not to listen.

That was how the miracle happened. She did not die. She took the decision to live on and follow the path He would define for him.

As it turned out, what she thought was the worst thing that ever happened to her, was actually the best thing that ever happened to her.

Millions of people are successful and live happier lives today because of her work. The saddest thing that ever happened to her gave birth to the happiest thing that ever happened to her.

The Cardinal 6.22.19

Spring was making it’s comeback

When a few weeks ago he appeared,

Just as dusk surrounded the eve,

Suddenly I got the oddest feeling

Like someone, literally was staring at me.

I seemed drawn to peer out my window

There I saw gently perched upon a branch,

A cardinal dressed in bright red.

He wasn’t checking out his surroundings

But looking at me instead.

I didn’t feel startled but calmness and peace.

Was he bringing me some sort of message?

And though I had heard tales of such,

Of the appearance of loved ones lost,

Until then, I hadn’t believed all that much.

Every fair weather evening since,

I am drawn to look out that same way.

Often he is there and then he is gone,

Though I have never seen him depart.

But there just seems to be a familiarity about him

He, like my dad, leaves the echo of a sweet little tune

That continues to play in my heart.

“The things that makes your heart beat faster and your eyes glow when you do it or talk about it, no matter if it’s hiking, yoga, gardening, painting, meditation, love, photography, going for walks, helping others – do that…. Do it as often as you can. Because that’s what life is about. Creating as many passionate, happy moments as possible. Don’t let anyone stop you from doing the things you love – not even yourself.”
