This is my prophetic word video for December 2019 from YouTube channel Carly’s Niche. I really sense God wants us to use our assertiveness this month and let go of unbelief. This could apply to any month but I sense especially for December. I hope you enjoy. 🙂
The four Sundays prior to Christmas are traditionally known as “Advent,” within most Christian churches. It is a time of both anticipation and preparation for the celebration of Christ’s birth into our world more than two millennia ago.
December 1, 2019, is the first Sunday of Advent on the church calendar. Many churches feature special events prior to or even as a part of congregational worship gatherings. These usually include the introduction of Christmas “hymns” or special music selections familiar to most of the people who will attend.
Since Christmas is a time that many people visit churches who don’t regularly attend, Advent is also a time when additional presentations are held such as dramas and musical performances. These special services are often prepared months in advance with the help of numerous volunteers who strive to make the season more meaningful for those who attend.
There are some potential problems with the tradition of Advent that can go largely unaddressed because they are unrecognized. One problem fits the old saying, “familiarity breeds contempt,” in that the more practice one has over many years participating in Advent, the more one can overlook the meaning of doing it at all by simply taking Advent for granted.
Another significant problem involves those who are among casual church-goers whose main motivation may be to observe children or other relatives participating in Christmas plays or in a special choir performance. Instead of taking Advent for granted, these people can easily just dismiss it altogether as one more “event” to attend around the ‘holiday’ season.
In short, this epitomizes the difficulty every church and every pastor has in preparation for this time of year. How can the marvelous message of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, bring born as a human being to bring His creation the good news of God’s love and grace, be meaningful and impactful for everyone?
The First “Advent” Promise, the Proto-Evangelium
The four Sundays of Advent also feature an activity only engaged in during this time of year, the lighting of the Advent candles. A different candle is lit each week symbolizing the qualities of hope, faith, joy, and peace given to humanity by the coming of Jesus.
The candles are most often arranged in a circular pattern within an Advent “wreath.” In the center of the wreath, a larger white candle is usually placed to symbolize the birth of Christ, and is thus known as the “Christ candle.” Usually, a short ceremony/teaching accompanies the lighting of each candle to help express the meaning behind the concepts.
I will not delve into the history of how the idea of an Advent season came about and how it has developed until today. Rather, I propose to present a biblical case that the true meaning of Advent is contained and expressed within the Word of God.
I have always believed that the true meaning of anything is inextricably tied to its origin. Therefore, the meaning of Advent as a concept [rather than the meaning of the term itself] can be found in the origin of the concept in the Bible.
Advent originates in the Bible where the writing begins, in the book of Genesis. It is first presented by the words of God in the Garden of Eden in the aftermath of Adam and Eve’s first disobedience of God.
God spoke to Satan who had taken the form of a serpent,
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:15 [ESV]
This verse is known by biblical students and scholars as the proto-Evangelium, or “first gospel” message ever presented. In the midst of pronouncing the punishment for the original sin of humanity, the LORD drops a nugget of golden “good news” to look forward to in the future.
Specifically, God promised that sometime in the future, the offspring of the woman would fight against and triumph over the offspring of the ‘serpent’. It is a unique promise because it identifies the one who will come as the “her” offspring, rather than a descendant from both Adam and Eve.
There are other instances in prophecy when God specifies that the promised One is going to be born of a woman alone. The most familiar of these comes from chapter one of Luke’s gospel as announced to Mary by the angel Gabriel.
And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. Luke 1:30-35 [ESV]
The first promise of Advent is that Christ is coming to fulfill the plan of salvation set in motion way back in Genesis. Moreover, the promise was also that He is coming in a miraculous manner that God alone could accomplish, being born of a virgin!
Advent helps us recall the hope of this promise, and look toward God to fulfill it on our behalf, even at great cost to Himself. Realizing and accepting that promise in each heart brings the ultimate hope for our eternal life in the Kingdom of God.
Take time this Advent season to grab onto the promise of God for yourself through faith in Christ. It will be the best Christmas gift anyone could ever acquire.

Much attention has been showered upon the first proposed bill introduced by new Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez popularly known as the “Green New Deal.” There are many flaws in this ‘plan’ that have been judiciously pointed out by capable commentators on every type of media platform.
Thankfully, the members of the House of Representatives have not yet considered the proposal. It is not quite a ‘finished’ bill despite being co-sponsored by several declared Democratic presidential candidates including Kamala Harris, and Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker.
Why is this idea being considered at all? To address the mythical catastrophe of ‘climate change.’
The Left, as has been chronicled here and elsewhere, has been devoted to the climate change fraud for decades. Unfortunately, some like Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, are true believers in that pseudo-scientific cult.
We should understand that this “resolution” is designed, purposely or otherwise, to destroy the nation. Unless the tide is turned back, that goal may well be accomplished.
It Is Impossible and Will Destroy the Economy
This is a destructive idea because it cannot be done. It is literally impossible to accomplish the GND.
Americans like to believe we can accomplish things that others think are impossible, but that’s not what I’m talking about. The GND is impossible like a square circle is impossible and not even God can make a circle that is also a square.
That’s because the GND violates the basic laws of mathematics. It requires that 2+2=5, while reality says that cannot be so.
The estimated cost of implementing one aspect of the GND is 13 trillion dollars. That is the requirement to replace all power generation and operation to non-petroleum, renewable resources.
How do we know this? Because the power grid replacement part of the plan has already been researched.
As it happens, a team of Stanford engineers led by Mark Jacobson outlined just such a plan back in 2015. Jacobson’s repowering plan would involve installing 335,000 onshore wind turbines; 154,000 offshore wind turbines; 75 million residential photovoltaic systems; 2.75 million commercial photovoltaic systems; 46,000 utility-scale photovoltaic facilities; 3,600 concentrated solar power facilities with onsite heat storage; and an extensive array of underground thermal storage facilities. …The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation calculated that the total cost …of Jacobson’s scheme would amount to $13 trillion. And based on how fast it has taken to install energy generation infrastructure in the past, Jacobson’s repowering plan would require a sustained installation rate that is more than 14 times the U.S. average over the last 55 years and more than six times the peak rate.
The phrase “photovoltaic system” is better known as solar panels. The impossible cost and effort required here are for just one part if this comprehensive plan for disaster.
The GND is far more encompassing than simply revamping the national power grid. Here is more of what this impossible dream entails.
…a guaranteed job with a “family-sustaining wage,” and universal access to high-quality health care, affordable housing, economic security, high-quality education, and healthy food. It also calls for increased government support for family farming, economic development in vulnerable communities, research and development, and environmental cleanup. And it would meet the goals of 100 percent renewable power production and no net increase in greenhouse gas emissions. All of this would occur through a 10-year “national mobilization.”
Take just one other from this list. Start with “universal access to high-quality health care…”
How much would that cost? We have another example of the expense with the earlier proposals for “Medicare for All,” most notably favored by AOC’s Democratic Socialist compatriot, Senator Bernie Sanders of VT.
This universal health care plan would cost 32.6 trillion dollars over 10 years. The total is now 45.6 trillion dollars over ten years for only two small parts of the GND.
How would this be paid for? Well, it won’t be through taxes. If you took all the wealth of all the billionaires of the world it would pay for less than two years of the 45.6 trillion price tag.
However, American law enforcement could only seize dollars from American billionaires, which totals 2.48 trillion dollars. That wouldn’t fund six months of these two tidbits from AOC’s proposal.
Moreover, the proposal requires the elimination of all fossil fuels. This means the abolishment of all air travel, indeed of all air traffic, civilian or military, and somehow, the elimination of methane from cow flatulence, or else convince them to stop passing gas!
Yes, the cows are mentioned as a part of the proposal. At least, they were at first but that may have been hacked…more on that part later.
Civilian air travel would be replaced by a high-speed electric rail system, at least according to the GND. Only electric cars would be permitted and an entire network of electric charging stations must be constructed, as well as some way to get to Hawaii without airplanes or ships.
Additionally, this plan calls for the retrofitting and reconstruction of every building in the nation. That is not a misprint, folks; every…single…building.
Perhaps the most ridiculous piece of the GND resolution is the goal of,
Economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work.
I predict should this become codified that the list of those unwilling to work will grow exponentially.
In order to actually put this gargantuan plan into effect, the enormous cost necessitates funds that do not exist, nor can they be produced in 10 years or 50. Even AOC knows that much.
However, this is conveniently solved by something called Modern Monetary Theory,
Ocasio-Cortez is continuing to argue for Modern Monetary Theory — something she said “absolutely” needs to be “a larger part of our conversation” in a recent Business Insider interview. The theory says that because governments can literally print money, “they can spend as much as they like,”
This is what has just happened during the last two years in Venezuela. The government printed money to fund its unsustainable debts, and inflation ran wild.
Socialists are unable to see that it is the philosophy itself which is unworkable. The most recent example of such is being demonstrated in the devastated nation of Venezuela. The annual inflation rate recorded last month in that country was an astounding 46,305%!
Now that nation, once the richest in South America, is destitute. People have fled in droves because everything is gone, including basic food items.
Unfortunately, the Left is absolutely committed to this Socialist agenda. Such an agenda carries a more ominous threat than economic destruction, the destruction of liberty itself.
The GND Would Destroy Liberty
The impossibility of the GND resolution is not lost on most functioning people. However, just because it is impossible doesn’t mean the Left won’t try to do it anyway.
Why would the Left attempt something as insane as the GND? Why would they continue to attempt this thing that is clearly impossible to do, and has historically been proven to fail?
The answer to this question is twofold. One answer is simply that the person is deluded on the level of a man claiming to be a turnip.
This is the same kind of delusion the Left embraces with the aforementioned ‘climate change’ ideology. A delusion so pervasive that Leftists in the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change or IPCC, are willing to change raw data and adjust it upward to justify their false claims.
In fact, the GND uses recommendations of the IPCC as the impetus for its proposal. This is similar to the mania of Leftists who engage in the destructive transgender ‘movement,’ and are not shy about abusing children to do so.
There is one other reason the Left will if they can, try to put the GND or something very similar to action, despite knowing it will fail. That reason is also simple, but it is in the shadows.
It is to assert complete control over the general populace. A cursory glance at the list above and the cost should cause us to pause and consider just how the government would accomplish these grandiose illusions.
There is but one way to do this, and some in the Left ardently wish this to be so. It can only happen with complete government control of, well, everything and everybody.
The radical Left is aware of this aspect of their plans. However, they also know that if most people realized the facts, they would totally reject the GND. Which is why AOC’s advisors are trying to walk back the original demands of the document.
As the video shows, AOC’s advisor claimed the original document, found on her Congressional web page was a conservative hacker’s creation. He has since admitted that he was wrong about the facts of the proposal.
Ocasio-Cortez’s office did, however, publish a “Green New Deal FAQ” that said it guarantees “economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work,” contrary to Hockett’s claims. Her office later deleted the FAQ.
The art of deception is one the Left is particularly adept at performing. The biggest deceptions are always saved for the biggest delusions.
For example, the claim that Obamacare would reduce costs by $2,500 a year was false. The claim that under government-run health care you could keep your doctor and your present insurance proved false as well.
Obamacare was a power-grab to gain national control over just one-sixth of America’s economy. Imagine the agonizing torture of the truth needed to sell the GND which would literally control every aspect of every person’s life in the nation.
The dance of deception has already begun with AOC herself. In audio featured on The Buck Sexton Show of February 8, 2019, she agreed in one interview that the GND would require “massive government intervention,” and later the same day claimed that saying it was a “massive government takeover” was a conservative “misrepresentation.”
There is no way to obscure the disaster that even a portion of the “Green Dream,” would be if implemented. The only part of this farce which makes sense is if the co-sponsors and other supporters are ignorant concerning the original proposal.
That is possible but unlikely given the tremendous amount of press the GND has garnered. It is more likely that the Democrats in Congress know that what is written down now will be at least somewhat redone before the ‘resolution’ can be considered as a bill.
Even then the bill is unlikely to make it to President Trump’s desk, and would certainly be vetoed if it did. If that is so, why sound the alarm now?
There is an old and wise saying not heard much these days. “Forewarned is forearmed.”
This saying means that having an advance warning provides the opportunity for an adequate defense. Consider this a forewarning allowing America to become ‘forearmed.’
Do not think the Left will stop with the GND when it fails to become law. They will continue to promote Socialism proudly and boldly until the public becomes used to the idea.
When that happens, the door is pushed slightly ajar so as to enamor especially young adults with the idea of a Socialist utopia. The true believers of today will endure just as sympathizers with Socialism have since the 1960s.
Being forearmed doesn’t necessarily mean being armed with physical weapons. In this instance, it means being armed with both intellectual and spiritual weapons.
Intellectually this means a bit of effort to make sure the information relied upon is accurate. Sadly, no one should fully rely on any publication or pundit from the mainstream media, especially when it concerns anything about President Trump.
CNN is the prime example of such determined bias and was anxious to make war against the president before he was inaugurated.
[Chris] Cuomo vowed to oppose Trump’s policies, and stated he feels it is the job of the media as a whole to treat the next president of the United States with hostility. Per Cuomo, “The media cannot yield. This administration is going to demand constant fact-checking and opposition.”
Of course, journalists must fact-check this administration, as they should do for every administration. However, the idea that active “opposition” to any administration is part of the purpose of journalism is false.
A study of media coverage in 2017 by Harvard revealed that anti-Trump bias was extreme in the MSM, with one large exception.
CNN and NBC struck a 93 percent negative tone on their Trump stories, with only 7 percent positive. CBS was third in the anti-Trump race, with a 91 to 9 ratio. And the pro-Trump Fox News? That network was 52 percent negative to 48 percent positive.
This kind of data reveals that only Fox News, which is supposed to be extremely conservative, has any balanced reporting and commentary. The same kinds of bias have continued to this day according to multiple studies by the Media Research Center.
Spiritually, the weapons which should be used against the present incarnation of the Left are outlined in a tremendous passage from the New Testament. The Apostle Paul gives the specifics in the book of Ephesians.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints… Ephesians 6:12-18 [ESV]
The key to putting on this spiritual “armor of God,” rests in the final thrice-repeated call to prayer. Prayer is how spiritual weapons, both defensive and offensive, are applied.
Pray for truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, and salvation to defend against evil. Pray for discernment of God’s Word to push back against the enemy.
Persevere and pray for all those fellow ‘saints,’ brothers and sisters in Christ always. Today persecution and danger for Christians is greater than ever, and so the need for prayer is also greater than ever before.
P.S. There are some excellent tools which have emerged over time to aid in donning the armor of God. One I can recommend is the Armor of God Prayer, available through Church of the Highlands and at this link as a PDF file.

Certain words have such a profound meaning in life. At times they even apply to a holy line of thoughts.
Please join us for more conversation on Inertia on our new YouTube channel, Blogging 2 Believers! Just click the link below:
For example, Sir Isaac Newton determined the law of gravity – a body at rest remains at rest. He claimed a mass continues to move until it meets an opposing force causing its speed or direction to change. This philosopher who laid a foundation for our scientific era believed he was put on earth to decode the word of God in scriptures and the book of nature. But, Christ proved Newton’s theory of law, called inertia, could be slightly incorrect within the Christian realm. A body which proceeds in a straight line with the Lord as our momentum, regardless of an opposing force, creates unstoppable energy; a resistance to change direction is impossible.
The big question is where is your inertia? Are you perpetually moving toward Christ, or does your inertia lay dormant as winter in a tundra? Are you the body at rest, remaining rested? God is an unmatched strength and best described as the driving force against inertia. He put our world in a spinning motion. If you allow Him into your heart, you too will always move in the direction He set forth for you.
Reflecting on these words, have you ever wondered why rejoice is the next word after reject in the dictionary? It is because rejection in life is natural, a worldly occurrence, but Christians strive to be better; we rejoice in the momentum of beating inertia. Faith is a fuel which proceeds forward, heading toward salvation. It can overpower Satan’s inert forces if we pray and remain steadfast in God’s love. Remember, the absence of energy is nothingness – no life at all, so we must find it to travel onward.
To prove my theory, let us examine those with spiritual laziness. Do you come home from work and sit at the computer playing games or chatting on social media? Did you pick up your Bible at all to study it? How many of you make excuses why you do not have time to spend with God? Those who’s inertia stagnates will surely go astray, especially in tough times. Be prepared to challenge Sir Isaac Newton’s theory of inertia and fuel up in God’s written Word.
We serve a marvelous Father! Through flood, fires, and wars on earth, God remains a viable entity to fight off evil. He is a force who will bring you wonders inconceivable to the naked eye. If we keep the Lord’s commandments, we will save our soul and find fulfillment in life. But the one who is careless or despises His way will perish forever.
Number two in a new Sunday Series on virtues
Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in him. John 18:37-38 [ESV]
Last week I began this special series with a reflection on the virtue of beauty. In my eagerness to begin, I neglected to mention some basic information.
This is the second of seven contemplations on various virtues and their meanings for our lives. There may be others who will disagree on whether seven is too many or not enough.
I would reply that seven seems sufficient to cover the basics for a practical understanding. It is, after all, considered by many to be the number of completion in Scripture.
These are biblical and philosophical musings from this author’s interpretations and point of view. It is my sincere hope that these can prove edifying to others who chance upon them.
In the modern age, perhaps the most difficult task in life is to correctly identify truth. One obvious reason is today’s overload of information, both true and false, appearing in various formats on the internet.
However, it is vital for every person to be able to determine what is true just to live each day. According to dictionary.com, the word truth is defined as,
1.the true or actual state of a matter:
He tried to find out the truth.
2.conformity with fact or reality; verity:
the truth of a statement.
3. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like:
There are many other dictionary entries for “truth,” but these are the most basic which apply to all the others. The first definition is the least useful because it defines truth as, well, what is true.
Entries 2 and 3 define truth as a concept. Truth is comprised of facts that best comport with what is real.
On a practical level, most people understand that truth must align with reality. Yet the question of Pilate still resonates with many when he asks, “What is truth?”
I believe this is because knowing what truth is seems easier than identifying the truth among the chaos around us. In order to successfully navigate toward identifying truth, we must first understand that truth is absolute.
The Absolute Truth
The truth about truth is that it cannot be denied. Truth is an absolute. This means that truth exists independent of acknowledgment.
In other words, the truth about anything or anyone exists even if no one sees it or agrees with it. This assertion goes against the prevailing leftist view that truth is relative to one or more viewpoints.
The common refrain from the Left is characterized by the statement, “There is no such thing as absolute truth.” The correct response to that statement is, “Nonsense.”
It is nonsense because it is a self-defeating statement. If there is no absolute truth, then even the statement, ‘there is no absolute truth,’ is untrue.
If one claims this statement is true, then we know there is at least one absolutely true fact. However, it is the fact that no truth is absolute!
Truth deals in reality, in facts and actualities of what is and what is not. However, identifying the truth often means dealing with falsehoods and distortions of the truth.
Faith and the Truth
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 [ESV]
The falsehoods and distortions of the truth exist all around us. In order to both identify and deal with them, we must be intimately familiar with what is actually true.
It is much like someone in a bank who must determine which bills or coins are counterfeited. In order to accomplish this, they must know every possible facet of a real bill or coin.
Yet, even the expert can be fooled by a thorough enough deception. The truth about truth is absolute, but it is also impossible for imperfect humans to know the truth perfectly.
Even science recognizes this and it is reflected in the classic scientific method. What we know as scientific ‘fact’ has been subjected to a process of testing designed to disprove the hypothesis or theory or even a scientific ‘law.’
The reasoning is that if a proposition, such as the Law of Gravity, can have serious doubt cast upon it with an experiment, it is likely incorrect. If that cannot be done, it is very likely correct and true.
Therefore, though the truth is absolute, the certainty of the truth is not. Why not? Because all of us process our environment by placing some faith in our senses to give us correct information.
In fact, that is what human beings have to do to live life at all. Sensory input tells us that we do not exist alone, that we live with others as co-workers, friends, families, and foes.
The only alternative to this is living as though everything and everyone else we see or hear is an illusion of our own mind. Though that is an entertaining concept as seen in the fictional film “The Matrix,” it is not reality.
We are not like the character of Neo in that film. We cannot simply ‘take the red pill,’ to know the truth.
How Can We Know the Truth?
How can we bridge the gap between the truth that exists and our knowledge of that truth? There is no way to do so by relying on human sources alone.
Human knowledge and searching can take us far along the road to truth, but not to the point of perfect assurance. To get there, we must travel the less comfortable path which goes beyond the senses.
Jesus put it this way when speaking to His disciples,
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16,17 [ESV]
The ultimate, absolute truth is found through the Holy Spirit’s guidance. That guidance is available solely by trusting in God the Son, Jesus Christ.
A few verses prior to the above citation, Jesus says this,
…I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 [ESV]
The truth that is necessary to go about everyday life can be garnered from many human sources. The ultimate truth which gives real meaning to life can only be realized through faith in the One who declares He is both the way and the life as well as the truth, Christ the Lord.
