Between a Rock and a Hard Place

God can change your course of history. Have you ever been between a rock and a hard place, where you have to make a choice between two unpleasant options? I grew old from throwing stones, so I conceded to stay in prayer.

I’ve found myself at dead-ends of lonely highways, and at the edge of cliffs I thought was a gentle shoreline. I drove in storms where no man ventured, unaware I was being protected by God. Do you, too, look at your world and question how you ended up where you are today?

Second-guessing our world allows Satan a place to rest in your life. No rest for the weary may have more meaning once you understand the complexity of the verse. Being placed between a rock and a hard place is best described as a vice on your spirit. God will not allow our hearts to be bound if we continue in loving prayer. We can apply God’s command by choosing His way…

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him.”

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

How does God give us direction? He guides us by the wisdom of the Bible and wise biblical counsel from His servants. It addresses every complexing situation in life. Sometimes, though, answers may not be clear through scriptures. Search out guidance in a library or Christian websites to gain a piece of broader knowledge.

“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14

Maybe you’re afraid of deciding about something which you may regret later. Everyone has to make choices, and my friends, our Father’s abundance of grace and mercy freely flows to His children. His forgiveness is unending.

I give God the glory! The mighty savior’s strength protects us from the storms. He knows we face situations of being caught between a rock and a hard place. But in the sanctuary of His safety, He delivers answers within the ferocious winds and the sigh of calm waters. The Lord’s love abounds among the fear. He mends the broken threads of Satan’s fury for His way is forevermore.

I pray your prayers will make miracles happen when you are between a rock and a hard place. Wouldn’t you rather find peace in a quiet harbor than on a violent sea? Pack a paddle and head for the Lord!

Covenant of Faith

God set forth an impossible undertaking when He challenged my capabilities to be the best at something I never imagined possible. But then it occurred to me – how many others seem to be on a quest for Jesus? They do not realize the disillusionment of the deserts.

I often wonder how some people got started in life. What made them so great in their lifetime? For example, Nicodemus in the Book of John became a legend in the Jewish community as a ruler and teacher of Israel. Then there was an Indian lawyer called Ghandi, and a lady named Mother Teresa. Closer to home was a little boy called Billy, who took his Bible to school every day. He was such an avid reader, and he never gave up his desire to serve the Lord.

But many others are true to their heart, and they never waver from God’s ministry. In my personal life, it’s a profound feeling of a great success to serve the Almighty. It comes with abounding rewards and grace. Now I should ask, where is the Holy Spirit in your life?

It could be too easy to stop my ministry of writing. I’d load the kayaks in the back of my pickup truck and head to the lake. Not a bad idea, but God puts His trust in me to bring others to His kingdom. My reward for faithfulness? I am so blessed in every waking moment. I’m sure my words may confuse you, but my closest friends and family know my priority is to serve the Father.

Too many believers “toe the line” in their commitment to serve our Lord. They pray for answers but give up when there’s no immediate response. Sometimes we look for answers within this world only to discover God is already working on our healing.

If you want to see faith at work, then don’t look at a three-piece suit parading up on a stage, shaking a Bible at our Almighty. That’s blasphemy – no! Let’s examine the heartbreaking scenes of the Bahamas. A mother stood in a bathroom with her three children praying to God for help in the disastrous times of Dorian. Do you think God didn’t hear her heart? (See the video below) Prayer is the only ammunition to combat evil.

https://youtu.be/SOHeYhT0LPw

With the mighty force of just one young mother, who guarded her three children in a bathroom, she brought together the strength of nations, ready to oblige her mission. What a world we could live in if we understood the destitution of our mental thoughts! Hopefully, many received the message for it was a great example of God working through His people.

God challenges us to be successful in His glory if we stay in prayer and never give up hope. Do not render your patience. As we kayak in God’s calm waters, do not evade the fact the calm waters are His too. He wants everyone to be successful and filled with hope. We shall armor ourselves in the covenant of faith for God ordained it to be ours.

God bless you, my friends, and all the survivors of Hurricane Dorian.

Our Father Prayer

Are you familiar with the Pater Noster prayer? In a Christian denomination other than Catholic, you could be as it’s better known as The Lord’s Prayer. Jesus ascribed the 1,968-year-old words to His disciples when they asked Him how to pray on a hillside overlooking the Sea of Galilee. The original prayer, dated 80 AD, is found in Luke 11:2-4 and the completion of it, in 85 AD, is in Matthew 6:9-13. Matthew’s version is the most popular in churches today.

Though translated from many different languages, this manual of Christian instruction remains the foundation of the Christian church and is most sacred to believers. The Apostle Paul taught this prayer to the Gentiles as a guideline to their faith in God.

Prayer makes our relationship with the Lord stronger. The history of the eight steps in the Lord’s Prayer is truly all we need in life to follow the resurrection of Christ. Jesus nailed it on the head in its description below:

STEP 1

Jesus told us to direct this prayer to God, the Father only – not the Holy Spirit, angels, or dead saints. Since we are God’s children, as is Jesus, we are to start the prayer with Our Father.

It clearly sets the rules God is in heaven and man on earth, and each has their own role in creation.

STEP 2

The word hallowed describes God’s nature. It means “holy”, “whole”, “wholesome”, and “heal”. We recite this word because He is altogether good; therefore, He cannot send sickness, trouble, accidents, or death.

STEP 3

The kingdom referred to in step three is God’s kingdom in heaven. Jesus is referring to the End Times; a constant and powerful reminder every person will eventually kneel before the Lord. These words are great to remember when we face adversity in life.

STEP 4

It is God’s promise He will return to earth to eradicate evil, sin, and Satan. Therefore, surrender your life to Him by following His commandments and upholding His control of your life. The great Lord is the only person we are to follow in our journey on earth and in heaven. Our submissive duty is to help establish the Kingdom of God on earth. Try to discover the thing God intends you to do and do it… you will find that all doors will open to you.

STEP 5

God is our Great Provider, not only spiritually but with the physical supplies, we need to accomplish His Will in this world. This includes money, food, shelter, and people who support His higher purpose. However, God cannot magically offer food so we can and should help one another in overcoming specific difficulties.

STEP 6

What a powerful reminder we must always forgive others if we want God to forgive our sins! Sin, the major fall of man, separates us from God and is rooted in selfishness as we try to live without Him. This passage also includes forgiving ourselves to alleviate guilt and experience the ultimate joy of life. Set yourself free!

STEP 7

Because man is born into sin and can make bad choices in life, wickedness resides amongst us on earth. Spiritual warfare is very real, and it’s as viral as a plague. God will deliver us in times of distress if we pray for His help to deliver us from the evil.

STEP 8

The word Yours is referring to Jesus’ Father in heaven. Another revelation, it expresses we are not to be disturbed or overwhelmed by the nations and governments which rule this world. Jesus will defeat all evil tyranny on earth, so stay focused on what is coming! His powerful Kingdom will reign forever.

There aren’t mightier words than the Lord’s Prayer. I look about as corruption and hatred exist at every intersection of life. It is just as Jesus described it would be in the End Times. Devout Christians are the chosen recipients to follow Jesus’ footsteps. Evangelization can help correct the world’s wrong, so let’s start by teaching someone Our Father Prayer.

Lord, I pray, we will not be lead into temptation for the world is full of Satan’s sins. The Bible is clear… in the end days, we will fight for our own preservation. There will be no million-dollar churches or smooth-talking ministers to save us; only the words of Jesus. The Lord’s Prayer will sustain a whole lifetime of prayer.

Why You feel God never answers your prayers ?

Why you feel,God not answering prayers ?

Recently one of my friends got depressed and expressed that,the Prayers are not being answered.This made me think about Gods way of looking after His creations.

You are a strong believer in God.

And you know His Unlimited Powers

you have not just one but many wishes to be fulfilled and you go on praying Him.

You are disappointed that not all your wishes are granted !

But why ?

Isaac Breece beautifully puts it while explaining,

“It’s not that God didn’t answer your prayer,it’s that you did not get the response you wanted.”  Isaac Breece

As a believer in God ,I know that prayers never go unnoticed or unheard by the Almighty.

God gives answers in three ways.

1.He says ‘YES’ and gives you what you want.

2.He says ‘NO’  but still gives you some thing Better.

3.He says ‘WAIT’ and gives you the Best .

So leave it to God and He knows when to answer your prayers

Remember the ways of God are unexplained.

His ways are mysterious.

His blessings are miraculous.

Have patience.

Thanking you

The Hardest Thing To Do Is… Listen

We found our way around the yachts parked in their cradles. An empty spot was right next to the dock. We quietly got ready to embark, and the cloudless skies made us wonder how far off heaven was from the pier. The snoozing seagulls perched on the post tops. As we set sail, the gentle breeze bellowed the fabric, and God became our propulsion. The shores of the water looked so endless. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and no place would I’d rather be than with my love and God at the helm. He created this perfect world of pristine water, and all we had to do was sit and watch Him work.

Sometimes it is difficult to accept God is with us day in and day out. Just as sailing into the open blue, we do not realize we are always at His mercy. Many times our sails luff and we pray as though we ran aground. As hard as life is, even doctors can do little to relieve discomfort. In the distress of my wife’s health, I’m left standing in a vacuum for everywhere I look, I see the remnants of the doctor’s aura.

So, I turn to God and ask Him if He has a minute. The hardest thing to do is… listen and wait for His messages. Our faith is only part of the process. Listening for His answers and reacting accordingly is the trick, so we must have a seeking heart. We should talk to Him as though he is a brother and reveal our frustrations, fears, and doubts. God will teach us how to recognize the difference between His voice and just our thoughts.

Find a location to be with Christ and His great mercy. The Lord always has a place open to sit with me, especially on this endless journey my wife and I have encountered today. I wish I could run away and take her sailing to the place called heaven, but it’s not time yet. God gave us responsibilities we must partake and fulfill. Instead,  I will sit with God and try to understand what advice I need to listen to and praise His great gifts. He united the two of us for some much-needed healing in our difficult road of life. So, I will carry her in every way I can possible. In His strength, we will travel as far as the Lord’s work will need us to go for He isn’t done with either of us yet.

The hardest thing to do is listen for God’s words, but if you acknowledge His involvement in your life, you will always recognize His heaven sent voice. Praise God! It’s our intimate relationship with Him that counts.

Miracles, My Love, Lie at the Foot of the Rainbow

The shadows lingered from a restless night, but I tried to be positive as God’s light rejuvenated my soul. I listened quietly as my wife dreamed, and I tried to adjust myself to fit into her position. I kissed her soothing body and prayed over her tragic health news this week. Sometimes in life, you wish you could put the world in reverse and take back past mistakes of bad decisions. We wasted too many years apart before finding each other again. Now, I’m left with little time to make up for my stupidity, and guilt haunts the “what if” category.

I’m reminded, reverently, we live our lives in God’s perfect timing. Our past life experiences are only to prepare us for the future. I crawled out of the covers. It was a new day, and the sun blessed the flowers; the birds chirped, and that which lied upon God’s planet came to His glory. I would be a speck of smudge on the earth’s surface if it weren’t for my faith. All things happen for a reason, and it is only God’s choice. I try to stay strong while our friends rally around us to rescue the brokenness of my will. It’s like kids on a little league team – everyone jumps out of the dugout and runs to help their fallen comrade. It’s a wonderful feeling when you’re lying face down in the dirt, and the whole team arrives to lift you out of the pain.

Tears have grown now as my appreciation outweighs the love which continues to pour into us. How can I sincerely thank all our friends, family, and followers, except to pray God’s glory will shine on their kindness? The Lord watches over His flock, no matter the situation. The sheep are gathered in herds, waiting to be fed once again. Christ, our Shephard will feed the hungry who are gathered in His name.

But, thoughts turn to my beloved. I find my strength in God, for I must be a pillar for her to lean on in this time of distress. So, I take her hand to rededicate, before God, my deepest love for her. I pray, in the name of Jesus, I will give her my all for His love is all we need now. We will walk together in the valley of the elms and take refuge in God’s shade. Our mighty Savior will bring us through this, just like our many other scenarios. Miracles, my love, lie at the foot of the rainbow. ~~www.danabicksauthor.com~~

Does your mind wander during prayers ?

grayscale photography of man sitting on grass field
Are you able to concentrate on God and Just God alone and pray without any thoughts interfering the prayers ? 1.Are you the one just doing the lip movements while praying,but wander in a different world  full of one thought jumping over to the next? 2.This split second intrusion of your thoughts (whether negative or positive) during prayers really haunting you ? Is this making you guilty ? If it is so, believe me …..you are not alone. Is it  because our brains have multiple components,each doing different jobs in quick succession, thus making us, difficult to concentrate ? Are these intrusive thoughts, a basic human nature ? ( since we can not stop thoughts from the brain) Can you control your mind when you are already burdened with your ‘Life’? (burden of life is a reality for all of us). Is it possible to override these thoughts ? How to solve this problem ? So many questions…..but I am finding very difficult to get one perfect answer (though plenty of answers are available on the net,which I am not convinced) which helps to really concentrate on God nothing but God . I don’t have an answer.Do you have one ? Please guide me. Some say Meditation helps
“The goal of meditation is not to control your thoughts,it is to stop letting them control you” theageofenlightement
Again I am not sure of Meditation and how it can help control ones’ mind,since mind sprouts the thoughts continuously.Mind won’t keep quite Even during the sleep, we are troubled by the thoughts in the form of Dreams! My guess is just ignore them.And Pray God to put an end to these interfering thoughts.Or  appeal to God for forgiveness and say “I trust you and I surrender”  Once we surrender with sincerity,God will appreciate. Please share your thoughts and any solution ( I mean based on your experience), if at all available.Thank you in advance. Thank you.   Philosophy through photography IS-pixel.com

A child’s prayer

God our Father who are most high;
I thank you for bringing me
Into this world;
Thank you for my parents;
You know why you gave
Them to me,
And me to them;
They cannot bring me up
On their own;
They need your grace
For their hearts to be filled
With love for me;
To have the wisdom,
The will,
The energy;
The financial
And material resources
To bring me up
In a way that will please you;
Provide them all the means. O Lord;
Help me to be a good child
On my part, to my parents;
Especially to you;
To love you and obey you always;
To obey my parents and teachers.
Help me in my school activities
Especially my studies;
When I go wrong, forgive me.
Make me strong in my faith in you.
And give me a prayerful heart;
Prepare me to serve you
Well so that more glory
May come to you.
Thank you for always being there
For my parents and entire family.
May your name be glorified
In all the earth!
Amen!

Grant me faith O Lord!

Almighty,  merciful Heavenly Father!
Who am I to have all the blessings you pour on me,
Had it not been for your unfailing love?
See how unworthy I am;
Not as bright as others far and near,
But see what you give me everyday;
More blessings than I can imagine;
What can I do but to thank you, Lord;
Kindly accept my humble thanks;
Grant me more faith in you than ever;
That I may put you at the center
Of my little life;
That I may put you in charge of my all;
That I may not depend on my power,
But on your mighty power O God;
For in the heaven and in the earth,

There is no one as greater than you;
There is even no one as great as you.
You are the beginning and the end;
The Alpha and the omega;
The king of the universe;
He alone that can do anything he wants,
Without asking anybody;
Almighty God, thank you from my heart.

See the wonderful family you have given me;

A roof I have over my head;

The blessings pour on me daily nonstop.

Pray for the suffering today

Pray for all those who are in pain today;
That God may relieve their suffering;
Many are those who are suffering;
From one plight or another;
Some are hungry;
No food to eat;
Some are sick;
No cure for their illness;
Some lack the money for medical attention
Or to buy their medication;
Some are tortured in their own families;
In their own country;
They need your prayers;
Some are unjustly punished;
Punished for crimes others have committed;
Some are displaced;
Some have no roof over their heads;
Pray for all these people;
That the Lord may have mercy on them.
And relieve their suffering;
Will you have time to pray for them?
