Wisdom Vs Intelligence !!

Curiosity, interest, initiative & exertion leads to “Learning”, which helps to use his “Intelligence” for understanding, analysis & interpretation to acquire “Knowledge”. If he uses his intelligence in applying the knowledge at correct time & place, using discretion, to right people or thing , for maximum advantage & meaningful expression or result, will indicate “Wisdom”.

few practical illustrations

Example 1. An ant, being a less intelligent creature or specie, starts from it’s home, travels a long distance, picks up the food, returns to home with it’s God given intelligence & is wise to fulfill it’s objective. Human type of intelligence is not required for the ant for it’s purpose.

Example 2. A boy has curiosity to know about cycling, so that he can benefit, going to the school by bicycle. Mere curiosity does not help. He must show interest, take initiative & exert himself to “Learn”. He should apply his mind & have keen observation, understanding, analyzing & interpreting different sequences & techniques of learning, using his “Intelligence”. This leads to acquisition of “Knowledge” of cycling. Once he acquires his knowledge, he has to apply it practically. His “Wisdom” now suggests, how “intelligently” he should apply his Knowledge “Wisely”, for practical utility. If he rides the bicycle in rough roads, full of sand, mud & stone pebbles, the life of the bicycle will become short, necessitating frequent maintenance, added to the inconvenience of riding. His “Wisdom” should select the appropriate road for joyful riding with minimum of wear & tear of the bicycle, at the same time, reducing the travel time.

Example 3. Any Nation progressing very intelligently, can amass highly sophisticated weapons of war, but if “Wisdom” is not used, any silly reason can ruin the country, it’s assets & properties & taking the lives of millions of innocent people, who are building the Nation for centuries of growth & prosperity. Miscalculated “Wisdom” can bring in “Self Ruin”.

Just keep going on….

Whenever you are sad or upset…  Simply remember :

  • Pain is part of growing.
  • Everything in life is temporary.
  • Worrying and complaining change nothing.
  • Your scars are symbols of your strength.
  • Every little struggle is a step forward.
  • Other people’s negativity is not your problem.
  • What’s meant to be will eventually BE.
  • The best thing you can do is keep going…

Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it ……..isn’t it???

What is in your Cup ??

An interesting Analogy :
You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee?
“Well because someone bumped into me, of course!”
Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.
Had there been tea  in the cup, you would have spilled tea
Whatever is inside the cup, is what will spill out.
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It’s easy to fake it, until you get rattled.
So we have to ask ourselves often… “what is in my cup?”
When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility?
Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions?
You have to choose!
Today let’s work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation for ourselves; and kindness, gentleness and love for others.
