Don’t be carried away

Are you the master of your destiny?

Do you have to allow yourself to be carried away by things happening around you?

At all times, maintain a clear, cold head and avoid reckless, irresponsible behaviour.

See what happened to someone. He writes:

“I wish to plead with all gossips and liars in taxis to always either be fast in telling their stories or summarize them.

‘Some of these stories are really thrilling to hear with a lot of suspense.

‘Sadly, most of the times, they fail to know that people are going to different destinations.

‘At the moment, I am stranded at a place called Sabga, because I was interested in stories that one man in my taxi was telling about charms.

‘When he alighted, I thought I had reached my destination also.

‘Unfortunately, before I knew what I had done, the taxi was gone.

‘I have no money one; but he is telling me to take it easy.

‘How do I take it easy? Shouldn’t he repair the damage he has caused? Isn’t he to blame?

‘Why didn’t he summarise his stories?”

You come across people like this man. They make mistakes a put the blame on others.

Shifting the blame will not help you.

You have to take responsibility for your actions.

No one can run your life for you. At all times, have a clear mind. No where you are going, how you are going and why you are going.

Be the master of your own destiny. Let me repeat: don’t be carried away.

A moving world

What in nature stands still?
What is dormant?
The leaves and the trees
Don’t stand still;
Neither are they dormant;
Birds and animals
Don’t stand still;
Neither are they dormant;
We humans don’t stand still;
Neither are we dormant;
We are either moving forward,
Or moving backwards;
Either we are happy
And our faces shine brightly,
Or we are unhappy
And sadness covers them;
Either we are strong,
Or we are weak;
Either we are light,
Or darkness to the world.
Mother earth, our planet
Keeps on journeying;
Where it is going,
Who can say?
We can only guess.
We live in a moving world.

Making many mistakes (Be inspired today 159 by Ngobesing Suh Romanus)

Are you making too many
Mistakes like I did
In my younger days,
As I journeyed
Through life?
Truly, when I was young,
I made many mistakes;
Many of them
Because I was ignorant;
I didn’t know
What I was doing;
I did what I should not
Have done;
But thought it was
The right thing to do.
And I failed to do
What I should have done.
When I look back now,
And see those mistakes;
I wish I had been wiser;
I really wish I had had
An adviser,
I surely, would have
Been more prudent;
I also would have
Been more thoughtful;
Being thoughtful is the key;
You mustn’t do anything
Take time to think about
Whatever you want to do.
Study it;
Look at all the sides;
What you shouldn’t do,
Please, don’t do.
Intentional living
Is what I am talking about.
Don’t live by the whims
And caprices of your world;
Don’t live
By trial and error;
Live intentionally:
Know where you are going;
Know how to get there,
Step out and start going.
If you do this,
You will avoid
Making many mistakes.
And increase your chances
of success.

Serving a living God

A living God is you O God;
A living God I serve;
With you by me, what can
I fear?
What can worry me?
What can make me doubt
The blessings the future
Has for me?
I know for sure
You will stand by me,
Just as you have said,
In times of trouble;
Fear is out of my way,
Even if the storms
Of the sea of life
Rage against me,
I shall have no fear;
If the world tosses me
From left to right;
And from right to left,
I shall stand firm;
Nothing shall hurt me,
Because you are a living God
That I serve.
In whom I am confident.

My First Blog Post – Hi World!

Remembering Day 1, (May.19.2017) – iSharvi

This is a story of a girl…” is perhaps a very common and popular beginning of most stories we heard from our parents in childhood. “There was a girl and a boy …to… and all is well that ends well” which is the familiar, popular ending too. As a child, the tragedies of our world do not seem to have any effect on our innocent minds with the exception of extreme cases where we are as well affected. We laughed wholeheartedly. Sometimes, the silence of tragedy would tickle us to giggle despite being conditioned to see tragedy to be of a certain seriousness by society. We fall and we cry, and then the next moment, we are in our own world, in our own plays, being the captains of the ships we sail in the streams and oceans of our dreams. Who we are and who do we become? It is not about making any points and neither decode life as it evolves. This blog is simply the sharing of my journey and insights about life as I feel, understand and live it; learn and know from it. This is the story of a girl. Indeed! The difference being, not that of a fictional character, but one who is breathing her truth.

Have you heard of
The Living Word?
I am talking of
The living Word of God;
What does that mean?
Who knows?
Who can say what it means?
For those who don’t know,
Let me say it;
When Christians talk of
The Living Word of God,
They are talking of Jesus Christ;
Yes, Jesus Christ;
Did you now that?
That is it;
Christ is
The living Word of God;
The Bible is
The Written Word of God;
When we read the bible,
We hear the voice of God;
We hear God speaking to us;
Hence, we meet God;
And have a conversation with him.
Meanwhile, Jesus is
The Word of God made flesh;
Everyday, make sure
You get in touch with
The Word of God made flesh;
The Living Word of God.
When you read the bible
You meet
The Living Word of God;
When you meet
The Living Word of God,
You meet God.

The God we adore

It’s quite evident
You are so confident.
The God we adore
Stands at the door.

It’s so marvelous
You are so generous;
The God we adore,
Stands at the door.

It’s so handsome;
You are so wholesome;
The God we adore
Stands at the door.

It’s so snappy;
You make me Happy;
The God we adore
Stands at the door.

It’s so good here,
You need not fear;
The God we adore,
Stands at the door.

This truth comforts me;
A truth that empowers me;
The God we adore;
Stands at the door.

Last Love

All glooms around me, I stand to reminisce our last fatal moment.

The feel of your touch, which awoke sensations never before touched, the taste of your words, the freshness of your breath still lingers; the sweet sound of you’re voice still echoes. I stand alone, recalling what now is lost, even the lifeless around me know; they understand as they have began to decay & refuse to flourish as they once did, they mock me or pity, I refuse to acknowledge, for the storm within me erupts like a volcano gushing forth its pain and anger with all its might to destroy everything within its reach, for the pain builds and subsides at its leisure beyond my control.

Pain is a futile word to describe my loss. My heart mourns, it weeps due to being distant from you. It knows to only function in one way; and that is …

being with you.
