Stand strong

Stand strong
Do not waver;
When the times are tough,
And challenges hit
On all sides
From all directions,
You don’t have to panic;
You don’t waver;
Th
at is when you have to
Stand strong on your
two legs.
It is at such times
That we know the tough
From the weak;
Those who matter
From those who do not;
So always, my friend,
Stand strong.

Step on

Step on your failures;
Don’t sit on them;
Which means if you fail,
Begin again;
And see how far you go;
The first time
Should not be the last;
Let it be the start;
You will fail many times
Before you succeed,
But what you are looking for
Is not the times you fail,
But the one time
That you succeed.
See failure not as an end
But as a stepping stone
To success;
Step on them,
Don’t sit on your failures.

Video: Ten Facts About Me That Have Nothing To Do With Blindness

I as a person am more than the sum of my limitations. Blindness is a part of me, but it isn’t what makes me who I am. Welcome to my first video where I begin branching out and talking about aspects of me and my life that aren’t solely related to my disability.

Please like, comment and subscribe! Don’t forget to ring the notification bell as well. I believe this is the start of an even more in depth journey, and I am so excited to share in it with all of you Treasures.

Turning darkness into light

His stumbling-block
He turned into
A stepping-stone;
Putting a broad smile
On so many faces;
Starting, of course, as charity would dictate,
At home;
This is a blessing
That is no common commodity;
It’s the preserve of a few
Who possess the transformative know-how
To get to the bright side
of darkness;
Turning darkness into light;
Resultantly, they look like
A rare specie;
If you can boast of this ability, call it skill,
Count yourself lucky;
Stumbling blocks
Are a daily reality,
Galore in everyone’s life;
Their ugly faces always
Show up in annoying doses,
Without prior warning;
Justifying the raison d’Γͺtre
Of the management skills
To turn them into
Stepping stones
To facilitate instead of impede progress
To your destination.

That’s all I need

You don’t know
What I need;
What I need is superior
To what you think;
And I know what you think;
You think
I don’t know
What is going on;
You think
I don’t know
What some people are doing
To me;
Behind my back;
You think
I don’t see anything
Wrong anywhere;
You think
I am as blind as a bat;
You think
I am a fool,
That I am a donkey;
Is that not what you think?
Let me tell you;
I am not blind;
And I am not a fool;
I see every thing;
I know
What is going on;
I know all that
People are doing;
Though I make as if
I don’t know;
I even make as if
I don’t see;
I make as if
I were such a fool;
I have just opted
To give a blind eye;
Don’t you see
I am wise?
What did Joseph do?
That just man
Behaved like a fool
But he was a just man;
A man of honor;
Look at the trouble
He saved;
Imagine the damage
He would have caused
If he had done otherwise!
If what I see and know,
For sure pains;
If what I know and see
Hurts;
Because it’s evil,
I should not make others suffer
Because I suffer;
Let me suffer;
But others must be happy;
Let me be blind;
Let me be a fool
For this higher good;
Let men laugh at me;
Make a mockery of me,
Because in God I trust;
But that God believes in me,
Makes me feel great;
That is all I need.

Video: Ten Positives of Blindness

I’ve been reading my heart sister’s [Safe Space](http://safespace4all.wordpress.com) blog, and it’s beauty and success has made me want to take a good, hard look at this one.

I know I’ve not written much to all of you reading my blog of late, and even before I was forced into an unexpected video hiatus, it was difficult to do both. I would like to begin again, though I would like to post to my blog only the important things in words. The things people want to see. So please forgive me, my Treasures, if you see my blog undergoing some purging and tweaking in the days to come. Much of it might not be noticeable from off site, but just in case.

For now, I hope you enjoy my latest video where I speak about the ten positives of blindness.

While blindness does present its challenges, it isn’t all leaping hurtles and facing hardships. Sometimes, it can be downright beautiful, not to mention convenient.

Know it and do it

Can you tap water
From basalt?
I have never heard?
How can you?
So why would anyone
Want to reap crops
From an infertile piece
Of land?
Unless you fertilize
The land;
If you are not ready
To learn
What you must do
To succeed,
And do it,
Do not expect to succeed.
That would be hoping against hope;
That is simple and clear;
Hoping to succeed without knowing the right thing
To do,
And doing it,
Is like wanting
To tap water from basalt.
You will never do it.
You have never heard
That a snake gave birth
To a lion;
Or a hen produced a goat;
If you want to produce results,
Do what you must do;
Which means, first,
You must know it,
Second, you must do it;
To sum it:
Know it and do it.
