Poem No 34 from 100 poems for my sweetheart

MY LOVE FOR YOU

My love for you
Has not faded a tad;
It remains intact;
Alive and flowing like
A spring on a hill;
Active and kicking;
As beautiful as a rose flower;
And delicious like sardine;
My love for you is stronger than
A miser’s love
For money;
It makes me hungry
For you as the devil
Hungers for
A human soul;
It makes my heart yearn
For you as temptation
Yearns to capture
A good man’s heart.
That is my love for you.
The temperature
Is of a high degree.

Perfection

Hello everyone! Here is a series of poems/thoughts/ramblings on the theme “Perfection”.

Perfection(1)

Excerpt:

I wanted to be perfect!
Tall and slim,
With chubby cheeks and high cheekbones,
With a sharp jawline and perfect eyebrows,
Not a hair out of place;
Molding my body in a shape that is unnatural to its origin,
Telling myself that I am worthy only when I reach a certain standard.
I wanted to be perfect!

Perfection(2)

Excerpt:

What is perfection?
A child’s knee with no bruises?
A baby’s bottom with no rashes?
Or a mother’s heart with no fear?

Perfection(3)

Excerpt:

Each instance in your life is perfect
You remain perfect as you grow
Because you learn;
You learn that who you were 10 years ago
Was the best you could be Then
And the person you are Now
Is the best you can be Right Now

The huge leap

I couldn’t do it,

Was wrapped in my mind,

What happens if I fail,

And I did several times,

I was a huge sceptic,

I was on a constant grind,

Trying to make some money with,

But there was so much on the line,

Walking down the street,

Followed by police,

I didn’t even make that much money,

But I knew I had to stand on my own two feets,

I was and still am kinda chaotic,

To say the least,

I was always on it,

Eating like a beast,

Say it with me,

I’m a make a great leap,

It starts with saying,

I have a belief,

Scars

There’s a hidden story behind them, there’s a secret hidden pain, those deep, yet long wrinkles, that attempt to hide the scars in vain,

 her sad sunken eyes searched for someone lost in the distance, I noticed a tear tremble as she tried her best to avoid them in resistance.

Who was it that she longed for? who was it that she searched? who could of left her so broken? Unaided as I continued to implore.

She looked at me, as if it was her final goodbye, I held her hand to reassure her; as she began..

to close her eyes.

Stranger

Black arched shadow, human like, hiding in darkness, lost in black nights, escaping the fiery stars blazing a light.

Visible sometimes, only in the sun, only in the daylight.

A follower, an intruder, a stalker, unknown, follows my steps, whether quick or slow.

Quickening my pace, breathing with all might, the ghastly figure follows, not losing my sight.

Panting for air, oxygen, I cry, what’s happening, so quick, so fast; panic grips, sweating, cold chill drails through me, I cry, this can’t be right.

I pause, stop, holding with a blizzard of thoughts arguing my fate.

The sun calms its heat and rays of sunlight,

The stranger slowly fading, whispering with warmth;

‘set down you’re guard, I’m a friend not a foe,
my life is tied, to you’re end’.

Lovingly You’re shadow

Shadow

A silent cry, A silent tear, with no one around to compel; see or hear.

Loneliness my companion, a strange friend indeed, eats me away within; reminding me of my deficiency.

No knock or sound except of footsteps traveling another direction, I hear, I see, but stare in hope of a familiar face, a familiar body.

The darkness aids my enstranged friend, both mocking my surroundings, and then at me.

I mourn at what was once mine, and now forever gone. I reminisce at the days of happiness, as I lay still, as I lay lost.

Closing my eyes to escape, what is before me, allowing the stars, allowing the sky to envelope me,

holding; hoping; that tomorrow; will bring a better day, a better me.
