Schools issue quarrel

Are you aware
Of this fierce quarrel?
I call it schools issue quarrel;
Whether schools should open, or they should not;
Whether children should go to school
Or stay at home?
Whether children should be learned
Or be illiterate
When they grow up?
An issue best appreciated
in context;
Education, no doubt is good;
But what do we do
When the context is a complicated one?
That is where
I and my people are.
Caught between a wild fire
And the deep sea.
We are in deep trouble;
May God help us!

Quote (school)

Don’t play about school. That is the main place where learning is done. There are other ways no doubt, but they are only supportive. They supplement formal education. Do not be deceived by those who do not go to school but still succeed. The truth is if you see such people there is someone around the corner who went to school and is filling the gab for them. In this digital age formal education is a must. All parents should send their children to school. They will hardly forgive you tomorrow if you don’t.” (Romilia Quotes)

Love is scarce- Really ?

Love is scarce- Really ?

Only thing we never get enough of is love; and the only thing we never give enough of is love.

― Henry Miller

Why this happens ?

We all  think that, Love means romance.But it is not so. There are 7 types of love.
  1. Storge- Familial love
  2. Phila-friendship ( shared goodwill)
  3. Eros-Sexual or passionate love
  4. Agape-Universal love ( unconditional love)
  5. Ludus-Playful or uncommitted love
  6. Pragma- Long term love ( married people)
  7. Philautia-self love ( healthy or unhealthy)
source Psychologytoday.com, Quora) My discussion is limited to the married couple.

Think for a second.

Can you tell  the difference between ‘school and life‘ ?
” In school you are taught a lesson and then given a test.   In life,you are given a test,that teaches you the lesson” Tom Bodett
So what I am trying to tell is Life gives an opportunity to learn lessons  from our experience, in this situation….. day-to-day problems faced by the couple,thus giving them an opportunity, making them more accommodating,understanding and helpful to each other. Thus we can become wiser by experiencing these experiences. But here is the hitch. The problem comes in the unknown form of ‘E G O  nullifying all the benefits of life’s lessons,which we learn over the course of time. Why can’t we make an attempt to look into this ? Why can not we prevent this devil before it strikes us ? When we are able to manage life style diseases with sugar-free,fat-free,salt free,gluten-free etc. etc…why can’t we give a try for Ego- free ?

The only way to achieve peace and harmony is becoming ‘EGO LESS’,

and this should be the  ultimate outcome of your life’s lessons,if you are willing to learn.

Another aspect is ,to be able to differentiate, the difference between love & Possession.Don’t think ,just because you love the person…you got right to possess the person.( as if the person is a property) Remember love is selfless,coming from the bottom of the heart with total dedication,sincerity and commitment to lead a supportive life together.

And so…..

We make our life miserable because we never make an attempt to understand the full potential of true love,and thus we make ‘love’ scarce in spite of itabundance. True Love gives you, the real experience of what all you dream and Ego gives you, all the heartache. Thank you.   Philosophy through photography

Never be tired of…

Photo by Victor Freitas on Pexels.com

You can be tired of
Working
And stop working;
You can be tired of
Enjoying;
And stop enjoying;
You can be tired of
Going to school;
And stop going
To school;
You can be tired of
Seeking treatment
For your illness
And give up taking
Treatment.
You can be tired of
A relationship
And call it quits;
But never be tired of
Praying to God
To come to your aid.
Never be tired of
Thanking God for
His blessings.
Never be tired of
Reasserting you faith
In the Almighty God.

My dear students

My dear students,

You already know the importance of education. However, I still wish to remind you that education is the key that will open the door of success to you. In today’s world, you have no chance to make it if you do not go to school. Therefore, be serious about school.

Of course, going to school is not enough. You have to work hard at your studies. Day one of the academic year is the most appropriate time to start working for you success during the school year. Hard work is paramount. Spare no effort to work hard.

The world has become very competitive. You have to distinguish yourself to have a place. Talents are many. Opportunities are limited. Stand above the crowd to be seen; and the only way to do that is to work very hard.

Instead of focusing or concentrating on their studies, some students become wayward and waste precious time on things that don’t take them anywhere. The wise student guards against that. Be focused. Concentrate. Be disciplined and organized.

If you can be the best, why not? There is nothing wrong in being the best. There is everything good in being the best. Pray as if all depended on prayer and work as if all depended on work.

May the Almighty God guide and protect you throughout the school year.

It started with a uniform

It started with a uniform;
I was inspired by a uniform;
Then I was a little boy;
So many boys I saw;
All wearing charcoal grey trousers;
White shirts, red sweaters;
And brown sandals;
It was celebration day;
They all marched impeccably;
I was spellbound;
“I will go to that school,” I cried to myself;
In me burned ambition;
And from that day,
I worked towards that ambition;
And by the grace of God,
In 1965, my dream came true;
I went to one of the best schools
In my country;
And it all started with a uniform.

A Seemingly Endless Wait

Pacing till the front door and back
Only to peek out of my door
To check the streets again minutes later.
Looking through the window
And watching the street outside.
I check for every person that passes
Before stalking back into my room.

*

I welcome distractions and doorbells
That sends me running to the door,
Hoping for some information about your bus delayed.
This waiting game has always frustrated me.
I can feel the anticipation,
Weighing heavy on my chest.
Why don’t you call home using the driver’s cell phone…!!

*

I go back to my room and try and distract myself
I write and chat with other people on social media;
Facebook. Whatsapp. WordPress.
But still, can’t find a topic that won’t let the worry show.
For every minute that you’re late
Thousands of thoughts cross my mind
And mind you not all are positive.

*

Even though my fingers itch…
To yank my car keys from the key stand;
Open the garage and pull at my car’s front door,
I find myself pausing by my front door and
Wondering when you might come knocking.
Then just as suddenly… I hear the sound of the door open
And am I relieved that you’re back home….!!!

*

“It was just a regular traffic jam on the bridge mum,”
You say nonchalantly, as you head for your bedroom to wash and change
And I start laying out the lunch,
On the table for another meal together.

Contrary Yet Complementary

 5-edward-lamson-henry-american-painter-1841-1919-a-country-school-1890

By:- rANJEETA nATH gHAI

Difficult. Annoying. Vexing.
Tiresome. Trying. Tedious.
All that it could be
But never for a moment was teaching,
Inconvenient. Boring. Uninteresting.
Bothersome. Infuriating or maddening experience for me.
I always had a problem with my temper.
A simple irksome situation could
Turn into an explosion of emotion.
Tensions; Uncomfortable silence
Defiance; bad decisions wrapped up in smiles.
Gritted teeth and my motto; “I am who I am, and I do it my way”

*

Underneath those smiles
Lurked an irksome truth
And its name was Perfection.
Then I had kids of my own.
And discovered perfection in their imperfections.
Mediocrity was fine for me now.
Individual differences, I learned to accept.
My life’s perspectives were different now.
I was a mentor to my students.
In a world so impulsive,
They taught me cautiousness
Addicted to the chaos they created, I longed for it every day.

*

Torrent of love and faith showered
Was comparatively so stimulating,
My voyage with them has taught me the patience
Of an hour glass and its sand,
A need to learn and unlearn,
A need to learn how to endure
And to stand against the troubled winds
Of corporal punishments.
Breaking the barriers of absurdness
Your love led you to address me a ‘maa’ instead of ma’am.
Contrary yet complementary…
…YES; But that’s what today makes us ‘WE’.
